Croft lived off the reputation of a great World Club Challenge game. He never looked that great in the NRL (at least consistently).

I wonder if he should go back to Union which is where he played as a winger coming up through the grades.

Geez News Limited protects the $torm. It's always about their great system and culture, and not about the accountants....

Where a league player plays in high school union is the last relevant thing ever.

As soon as a GPS school finds out you play league, either you quit league or you get shafted.

The Storm’s outstanding 14-game run this season has raised the question of whether their success tarnishes the legacy of champion hooker Cameron Smith.

.......

would have to be up there with stupidest things I've read.

It was more a comment to say that I am not sure he has a place in league unfortunately.

It should raise suspicions about their salary cap.

Scott did, not Croft.

An 18 year old Curtis Scott looked like he was going to be the next Andrew Ettingshausen. He was wanted by so many NRL clubs, and finds his way to the $torm.

Especially as a Raider, he has not lived up to the hype.

Well in that case, I agree with you. He'd probably kill it in Super League though.

So Pangai junior to the Dogs. Vaughan apparently next.

The Dogs would never do anything dodgy with a salary cap with all these ins would they.

Gotta love what the Doggies are doing. Making big moves and the necessary. I don't have enough knowledge on whether JMK is the right fit for 9 moving forward for them, but I know a player like Starling or Hodgson would be so valuable at 9 for them. And getting mixed answers for where Averillo fits in next year's side. He's an excellent strike player to have that can grow with age, but complementing burton in the halves would be big ask for him. Feel like the Doggies need a proper proven half.

TPG can play but he's more of a thug than he is a game winner. Vaughan had some good years in Canberra and St George, but he's BBQ'ing alone right now. Probably not worth signing.

I don't care about TPJ and I don't care about Penrith, I care that this sets an ugly precedent. TPJ has not been bad this year at all and he is a genuine gun player going to the premiership favourites for nothing, that isn't right. This will just continue to make the gulf between the good clubs and the rubbish ones like us even wider.

Not only that, this is also rewarding a player for allegedly meeting with another club while under contract directly leading to his current club being forced to jump on the front foot and boot him out.

So TPJ (more likely his agent, TPJ isn't this smart) has managed to 'legally' get a better offer from the Dogs and likely win a premiership on his way out. How can the NRL just be ok with these machinations? I'll answer it, they are incompetent that is why.

Chooks were allowed to sign SBW for the last few weeks last year.
As to how last year's grand finalists still have room in the cap, who knows?
As to why the NRL would enable all this, I'm equally stumped.
The player transfer system is becoming so fluid that it is in danger of next becoming gaseous.

Yep and the Roosters signing SBW didn't sit right either, fortunately he ended up sucking.

I agree with that.
What I can't understand is that the Broncos are supposed to have all these gun players that other clubs are desperate to recruit (and are recruiting). If these guys are so good why is Brisbane so poor? I was astounded at how easily they capitulated against the Tugers on the weekend.

Talking 'bout my g-g-generation

**** this mid season shit, maybe the Broncos can sign someone from the bottom 2 clubs...too.
