Sometimes I wish we still had Wallace... instead of Hoffman.
What if we beat them in his absence?
More proof we're better off without him ......?
Probably a reflection of the fact they have two halves instead of our one.
I'll put it out there...I liked Wally,I liked what he did for us,I liked his commitment and I liked his courage. I liked the fact that he never whinged or blamed anyone,he tried his guts out for us and if every single Bronco tried as hard as he did we would have fared so much better. I agree he wasn't the greatest but so few are, including me.Sometimes I wish we still had Wallace... instead of Hoffman.
Have you ever re-watched Rnd 3, 2007 BTW?
No. Where would one obtain such ancient video footage
or, even easier.....what point are you trying to make?
:laugh:FMD......I'm doing well to remember my own name half the time.

Yeah I agree! Wally was great! But you know things change and we have to move on. Should be a tight game.I'll put it out there...I liked Wally,I liked what he did for us,I liked his commitment and I liked his courage. Wallace was a damn good clubman. Aside from one incident in the 2008/09 offseason, I can't remember him causing us any serious problems and he was a good competitive player.
I just don't think fans thought Brisbane was the right place for him anymore. We didn't really need a hands on half, we needed somebody who could create tries and Hunt's raw ability was far more promising.
To that point, I'm fine with the way our halves situation has panned out. Yes, Hoffman can be frustrating but I think it's basically forced Hunt to improve and lead this team around. If Wallace had have stayed, I reckon Hunt would have taken a back-seat and we'd be just as frustrated.
While I agree with you about the potential for Hunt to stay in Wallace's shadow, I also think that Benny could've become a fantastic 5/8 with Peter as halfback, as long as he did so in a "Lockyeresque" way of taking charge of the attack when he saw an opportunity or in the last 20. The question really is whether he would've had been assertive enough to do it...Wallace was a damn good clubman.
