He must of worked on his fitness because it was only a month or so ago that people were saying he's not match fit and that he's always gassed

Not so much about thurston more about the opposition new tpj is tired so kept making sure he was in the tackle then singled him out to run the play at. Watching it again i thought it was well setup. I noticed he did it a few time throughout the game he would look for tpj and kept running plays at him to open up gaps when he was fatigued to get back in position.
All half decent playmakers try to do that. Thurston is just better at executing it than most.

But TPJ didn’t step down and still put in the winning tackle.

Kahu out for 8-12 rounds.
Round 10 they are thinking. It is a really shit thing to happen to him because he's such a top bloke, but it might be a blessing for the team, there is no where for him to play atm really, with oppa playing the way he did on Friday and Isaako's a weapon and his goal kicking looks the goods... Also Bird could be back next week

Being at the game, there were a few moments that really stood out to me. Twice when the Cows were in our red zone, Boyd pumped his arms and barked at the boys to fire them up and to continue to hold them out (albeit after dropping a bomb..). It was only a little thing and probably should go without saying, but idk it just stood out to me after there has been question marks regarding his attitude.

That’s what a playmaker should be doing. Gaps in the defensive line don’t just appear, they need to be created.

On TPJ though, he may have had enough in him to hit Bolton, but let’s be fair - if the post wasn’t there we lose the game.

Good thing the post is there then. ;)

Absolutely. That's a try 9 times out for 10. Work hard enough, you make your own luck though.

I don't get this "if the post wasn't there the Cowboys win" argument. The post has been in the same place for 110 years. Players don't defend in front of the post. You could run at the same place 1000 times and there's a good chance that you're going to run into it again and again.

Yeah I’m baffled too. It’s like saying if the touch line wasn’t there, Oates scores.

Or if the TPJ didn't get unlucky with Martin's hand on the disallowed try. Or if the ball bounced better for Boyd. Or if Thurston didn't completely screw up his pass to Mclean allowing for the Granville try. Or if the unlucky deflection off Lodge from Thurston's kick didn't bounce perfectly for Mclean. Or if Offa's try wasn't disallowed for the forearm 'push' that also happened to us in this game (and other games, remember Kodi on wing against Melbourne and Vuni?). Or if Oates didn't unluckily drop the ball over the try-line.

My point is there was so much luck involved in that game, much of which was actually against us. You can't cherry pick one moment and say "Cowboys should have won" while ignoring the stuff that went against us.

What i really find irritating about the whole media outrage of "cowboys robbed cause of goalpost".

If the situation was reversed, and it was one of our play-makers who threw the game winning pass,
and it was thurston who ran across field and tackle the player into the post the media would be having a huge jizzfest
over how great thurston is with his determination and how it was deliberate.

Dont get me wrong thurston is a amazing player but **** me the media and commentators overreact on certain things he does its
just mind boggling

Imagine if Ben hunt didn't drop that ball, we could have won the grand final!
