Woohoo GO ROCKY!!!

And to answer a couple of questions, he's been playing 7 for Redcliffe this year and if there's been a better player in the QCup this year, I haven't seen him. I know the step up to NRL is a big one but I reckon he can go well.

Excited to see how Capewell does. Also keen to see Whitchurch again.

A bit out of left field but as soon as I saw the team, I liked the decision.

Hoffman is only gone a week, Hodges out for at least 2 so there's more merit in selecting Beale in the centres and letting him and the side adjust rather than constantly swapping the side around.

.. and if Capewell can't handle fullback (although i'm sure he will) then Beale can quickly jump in there.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this side goes too, exciting times with a lot more new blood in there :)

capewell played a fair bit at FB for titans last year didnt he?

It's really not that left field to be honest. Despite the fact that Capewell's been playing 7 for Redcliffe this season, he's played more fullback than halves throughout the course of his career. More of a runner than out-and-out ball player.

And he's not that much of a rookie either, he debuted in 2008. Seen a fair bit of him in the Queensland Cup and he's always been in the top echelon of players at that level but has struggled to make that next step up to NRL footy. Hopefully he can give a good acount of himself on Monday night.

Also, he does give us a bit of a ball playing option from the back.. ;)

Yeah it's one of those selections that makes a heap of sense but I don't recall anyone suggesting it on here.

not a single person suggested it :)

i like. lets see what he, and we, can do!

Judgement day at the judiciary.

It seems left field but now I've seen it, it seems quite obvious, given Capewell's NRL experience at fullback.

Kudos Hook :thumbup1:

I can also see a potentiality of if Capewell has a blinder there that he retains the spot, and Hoffman shift to the wing. The 2 can interchange their positions fairly easily during the course of a game if necessary...Could be a masterstroke IMO

No way of telling how he goes or if Hook is even planning on keeping him there if he goes well, but hey, I'm definitely excited in seeing if Capewell can actually add something to our attack.

Well yeah, if it works it's a masterstroke. If it doesn't, well, we're no worse off than now :P

Well, I watched him play against Wynnum on the week end and I didn't think much of him at half.

Hope he plays a lot better at fullback.

Yes, but then you think Wallace is the worst halfback of all time, so not sure your judgement is completely accurate ;-)

seems unlikely that they would do it. but personally i see this sort of thing as the way forward for successful nrl teams

Really......?

I thought Joe Bond was or even Tui Samoa was better.

From Dolphins' website.

Redcliffe Travel Player of the Match: Luke Capewell
Caltex Redcliffe Players Player: Tui Samoa
Peter Leis Medal Votes: 3- Luke Capewell 2- James Ackerman 1- Aaron Whitchurch*

No arguments here.
