[Round 22, 2021] Broncos vs Roosters

Best game I've seen Coates in awhile.
That bat back for the Riki try was all class. And he threatened all night making that Roosters edge nervy that 1st half.
Some people talking shit cause he definitely was not the worst out there.
Three errors. Worst in the team gives people ammunition.

I agree with the mentality that the game sucks at the moment and it definitely does. Momentum is too important. 6 agains and ref calls for unlucky accidental high shots they did no harm etc is bullshit. Players milking everything now because they know if they got touched high they get a penalty. But broncos made a few very bad errors. Both wingers made costly knock ons which lead to points against us snd Kennedy was awful. Giving them the line break where Teddy almost scored and the knock on at the death.
If Kennedy disobeys the ref and despite being called offside still tackles him they get 6 again and you call Kennedy a useless ****. If they get six again they might still have scored. Blame Levi and Riki's appalling defence that directly led to 18 all.

Far easier to blame a dropped pass on a wet night rather than blame Levi and Riki for appalling defence that directly resulted in a try. Kennedy's mistake didn't result in a try.
They are all pretty bad too be fair. Levi’s defensive effort was awful, Milford’s lazy pass from dummy half into Kennedy’s hip was standard Milford. Kennedy should’ve held on to it though.

I will give Kevvie credit, he has them playing much better. Still don’t understand picking Coates, who I thought was once again a liability. Kennedy was dreadful, the mistakes are just far too frequent, tonight he cost us the game.

The refereeing was shambolic, the roosters were offside all night and I can’t remember getting a set restart for inside the 10. There were times Klein was actually calling out roosters players by name and despite them still being directly involved in the play he still didn’t penalise them.

If that forearm graze by Flegler is the standard for a penalty the game is finished, there are hundreds just like it throughout the whole game that go uncalled, just as this one did - until the bunker got creative… How can they justify going back to the previous play on a challenge against an incorrect PTB? That is soo far removed from what the challenge was supposed to be restricted to. To claim because the PTB wasn’t completed it’s still the same play is ridiculous. It’s a completed tackle, it’s a new PTB, the fact he’s lost it playing it doesn’t change that. Fox basically just ignored it in the post game, but I bet anything had it been the roosters on the other end of it all hell would have broken loose. Annesley probably would have held a press conference straight after the game.

The NRL has honestly never been worse, there’s soo much wrong with it atm, it’s just an absolute mess. The protection racket V’landys is getting from newscorp is impressive, it must have been one hell of a good deal he gave them on the broadcast rights extension, not that we know because he won’t disclose it.
Ha ha ha. Kennedy didn't cost us the game. Levi and Riki and Flegler did. They didn't score off Kennedy's single mistake. Levi and Riki's defence and Flegler's habit of giving head high penalties is what cost us.

Why does it always have to be one or the other with you? Why can’t we say all of them lost us the game. Kennedy definitely being a big contributor with his rookie error.

Riki scored a try, Levi set one up, Haas scored a try, Flegler set one up.

What did Kennedy contribute? Let Teddy slip through the middle and dropped a ball cold at a vital moment.

I think you gotta accept Oates is going to have errors in his game. It’s how he picks himself up from it that matters. He had a good game beside from that terrible handling error.
Gee, you'd think people would feel the same way about Kennedy's single error on the night. Kennedy dropped a ball on a wet night, aside from that he was fine. He only had that one error and it didn't result in a try.

No. That's grossly unfair. Riki and Levi conceded a try between the posts. It can be that blame is shared. In fact that's MY POINT!!! Kennedy had a single error. He dropped a pass on a wet night. It didn't cost us anything. Sure, it'd be great if he'd caught it but blame all round is called for.

Kennedy had one error. The dropped pass. He had 6 team mates who had more errors than him. Coates had three on his own!!

We lost because Levi and Riki were terrible defensively and because Flegler keeps giving high shots away.

What does Kennedy actually offer? seriously..

He's a big body and I get that but he makes that many errors, hitting guys in the face.. dropping the ball, etc

Kevvie's developed a few others just like him except they don't seem to make the same errors over and over
Where's your evidence that he makes many errors? It's certainly not in the stats. I think you mean Flegler. He's given away 4 times as many penalties and six agains, had three times as many errors.

Haha. You can’t actually be serious, so I’m not going to bother.

Been a big fan of Kennedy this year but he's doing his best to play himself out of the team over the last couple of weeks.
He's been playing busted for a few weeks now. He won't be out of the team I don't think. He only had one error, that was the dropped ball but otherwise he did okay again. In fact, I think he made three, maybe four tackles in a row late in the game.

I can't believe you're blaming Levi over one single missed tackle when Kennedy missed 3 times as many!

Context, Huge.. It's not all black and white, this person made more errors blah blah blah. Kennedy fucked up and all you need to say is yeah it was poor but instead you come in all guns blazing claiming it was someone else's fault. Just stop, you're embarrassing yourself.

Pretty fucking miserable error to have though. Couldn’t even catch a pass on a standard hit up at a vital moment in the game.

Levi's miss led directly to a try. Kennedy didn't allow any tries in. I'm not saying it's solely Levi's fault but his error was vastly more significant than any mistake Kennedy made.

All moments are vital. It was a wet night, a bench forward asked to do a second unexpected stint and on top of all that, what the **** do people expect?

I mean seriously?

What was Flegler or Haas , the front rowers on 1.5 million bucks doing? Why weren't they there? No, instead you have a guy on minimum wage putting his hand up. I am totally bewildered by the posters on this forum at times.

This mentality applied to a vehicle purchase highlights it for me.

You consider a car because you want reliable performance. Fair enough. You want a car with that reliability AND performance so choose the high priced model. However the high priced model is just that, high. You reconsider. You leave but see a similar car for sale at one sixth the price!!

Great, you drive off and after a while it breaks down and had sluggish prior performance.

So, what did you expect? When you get what you pay for why are you surprised?

We pay Kennedy a pittance yet expect Haas like performance? No one can say Kennedy doesn't give value for money. It's fucking ludicrous to expect him to be a world class prop on basically McDonalds wages. He made one mistake that led to nothing.
