POST GAME Round 22 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

Re: Round 23 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

A few observations:

1. Reed is definitely the most bipolar player in the team. He can have a string of pearlers that make him look like a saint then a performance like that where I wonder what Copley is up to.

2. Hodges.....Really needs to lead by example better in the most important place when you're under the pump like we were: PATIENCE. That blind offload to nobody was just so dumb.

3. I fucking hate Ben Cummins with a passion. We cannot buy a penalty in the ruck when he is officiating. The video ref was wrong about the Milford no try as well.

4. Wallace is a journeyman prop. I'm convinced of that now. He just isn't fit to lace even Blairs boots which is saying a lot. We're missing him badly in the middle and I'm fucking happy he returns next week.

We really need to pump the Dragons to get our mojo back because right now, we're a deflating balloon.

Re: Round 23 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

Why doesn't the forward pass rule apply to the Bulldogs? The winning try was an absolute joke

Re: Round 23 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

Boyd - He was better than last week that's for sure
Oates - Good Cherry Picker, limited time due to injury
Hodges - What the ****? Please retire this year
Reed - I made a discussion last week saying about Reed? Anyone changes there though about him yet?
Kahu - he is fearless, I love him
Milford - he needs to relax and play off the back of Hunt not try and run the show sometimes.
Hunt - poor guy only fella trying out there!
Thaiday - wow that's what we need! More of it slamming sam!
McC - (cough parcell cough cough)
Wallace - I thought he aimed up to all big pack tonight.
Glenn - if I was him I'd smack Milford around, milfs bad decisions are making him look bad.
Gillett - try saver after try saver
Parker - congratulations mate!

Niko - limited time limited opportunities.
Dodds - where was he?
Ofa - he's the future of our forward pack, good signs.
Maranta - tried hard in the time he had.

Overall - it was a shit performance in the second half. Good in the first. Missed Blair and McG AGAIN!
Can't wait for Blair to be back. Anyway..

Re: Round 22 - Broncos vs Bulldogs Discussion

For sure, they held on for the full 80 and lost by 2 and not 30 so that's a positive.
And *SPOILER*

Manly just racked up a score on the rabbits as well, so clearly Manly are just on a red hot streak at the moment.

Re: Round 23 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

There wasn't much of an opportunity for Nikorima to run the ball. Dogs were all over the Broncos in the ruck and the only player getting good quick play the balls was Sammy.

Re: Round 23 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

I am not one for conspiracy theories but how many tries this year have been scored against us off, blatantly forward passes?

Re: Round 23 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

Does anyone else thing JH should just stick to scooting... sometimes i can't wait for him to retire. He tries to do way to much

Re: Round 23 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

The video ref was wrong about the Milford no try as well.

Maranta definitely got a touch to it.

Should have been a penalty for the check on Reed, giving Parker the chance to level it up.

Also want to give Parker his due on breaking Lockyer's record. Amazing feat from one of the best Broncos yet.

Re: Round 23 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

And for all the doomsday types, there'd need to be a miracle for us to drop out of the top 4, so I don't know where that rubbish is coming from. Top 2 is under threat if we don't start winning again though.

Re: Round 22 - Broncos vs Bulldogs Discussion

Disappointing game that one. Hodges had a shocker for the first time this year. Reed didnt offer anything in attack. Milford and Glenn with silly errors. Hunt and Macca were too quiet..
A 3rd forward on the bench wouldve been handy to battle the dogs pack as well. Definitely missing the likes of Moose and Blair.
Great games by Boyd, Kahu and Thaiday though.

Dogs were just laying all over in the ruck and slowing things down......the refs just let them go.

I thought Wallace went pretty well tonight. He's running harder and good lines. Asking him to bash his way through the dogs pack isnt realistic. His tackling has improved too. Trysaver last week and made a diving one hand tackle tonight on some whoe was about to slip through the line.
Also earned a penalty instead of the usual.

Here are my negative points tonight.

-3 Justin hodges, just too many errors that put us under extreme pressure. Already lacking forwards. Don't need the cheap turn overs.

-2 Milford, too many trick shots on every set. He was coming good with direct running and short passing.

-1 the power running monster forward that hasn't existed in Brisbane for almost a decade.

If Nikorima is just there for a hooking role, then it's a dumb mistake. He's not exactly very good there. If he can't run from dummy half, he should be running in support too.

Its funny, tonight when he did stick to it he made quality metres, but at the times we really needed to maintain possession he really lacked the leadership in ensuring no cheap turnovers. I won't make him the scapegoat, others were guilty of simple costly mistakes, but I expect more from a player of his quality and our captain.

I wonder how much of an effect Parcell would've had on tonights game.
