It's about putting someone who's not injured and normally plays in a 6 or 7 jersey into the 6 or 7 position and taking a player who contributes nothing (Boyd) out of the 6 jersey and into a position which he has had a good showing in previously. Right now that half is SOS. Milf is obviously not going to be moved from fullback as there are no other credible options for fullback. So simple logic suggests SOS into halves is a better outcome than noone into fullback.

Considering isaako was being groomed for the fullback roll , I can't see why moving milf to 6 and isaako to 1 is any more a risk than Sos.

Yeah maybe but the difference is SOS's last game in the halves for us was very promising. I know he's a rookie but I would say he gave us a reason to have some measure of confidence in him. Isaako is just finding his form again and the added pressure of FB may break his run. I'd imagine his mental state right now is right on the edge and trying to get the defensive numbers right when your head is full of outside noise is a big ask for a rookie.

FWIW I think Milford could be the most devastating 5/8 in the game beside a cool organising head in the 7.

Milford is a Fullback the only thing that made him decent as a 6 was his kicking, he isn't an organizer which is what we will need him to be if he goes to 6.

We just have to bite the bullet on this one and accept it, it looks bad now because every half option we have got injured at the same time, we probably still need to sign a experience half if we can get Boyd to retire but once our players are back it will start to make sense.

Why can’t he just be in position to take most the kick on the fifth, or even macca has a better kick then Turpin so switch rolls on the fifth to take pressure of milf if it gets to predictable

I disagree. I don’t think Macca has been going that badly. Of course Turps is better but regardless, I think Macca could be a serviceable second-string half. He can kick, he can tackle, that’s what is kind of needed for this side there given the injuries.

Plus it does get Turps into the position he should be in.

It's true to the extent he needs to stamp his authority as incoming captain. Unfortunately, while he's the obvious candidate on paper, he doesn't seem to have the personality make-up for the job. Doubly unfortunately, the best contender is Macca. He's perfect in every regard, except for anything to do with a moving a football into a point scoring opportunity.

The guy has the knees of a 50 yo, has had major surgery on countless parts of his body and niggling injuries on the rest and yet is still one of the premier wingers in the game. He should be in a wheelchair. No doubt, he is probably exhausted and needs a long rest. I'm not going to criticize him for being invisible occasionally and because he sets such a high standard, fans panic when he has a couple quiet games.

This allows us to double down on our opponents 20 metre attack structures whereby Macca now has 8 options to run the ball up; no kick at the end just run it up and if we don't crash over its handover....we then smash the opposite to bits running out then repeat the above.

Our completion rates obviously soar with no ball movement whatsoever...our backline help collect clearing kicks; our 8 forwards dominate field position..

Darius signed a "$4M 4 year deal", reports have him earning anywhere between 800K - 1M, so rounding it off to 900K. It's in the ball park.

Milford can either play fullback and support the forwards up the middle, or he can play fullback AND halfback and 5/8 (which he is doing, setting up for the 5th tackle option), he can't play fullback, support the forwards AND play halfback and 5/8 can he?

Maybe there needs to be one other big salary person coming under fire too. Not saying Milford isn't over paid, or hasn't lived up to his pay check, but I'd like to see him have one freaking person help him out in the backline more than once a game.

Thaiday and Lockyer both said NOT ONE WORD about Darius. Not one.
