I'd almost tip a nil all draw but did you see the Copley turned Roberts into a turnstile?
Frizell will run at him all night. Having Gillette & Kahuh either side will help but that effort from Roberts was just about the worst attempt of the year. Opecic looked good the other night, looks a perfect replacement for Reid.
Dragons attack is ordinary but so is ours and their defence looks a heap more committed to me.
We might finish on 28 points & thats if we can beat the Dragons & Parra  Who would have thought that 10 weeks ago.
Tigers & Warriors fans will be watching this game with enormous interest.

I don't see much reason to be optimistic about this game or any other game to the end of the season.

What's going to change? Our line speed is not going to improve just because we wish it too.I expect more of the same ie big fowards rolling through us , plenty of restarts for the Dragons , and predictable easily contained attack when we get into the red zone.

I just don't think they have the fitness , hardness or enthusiasm they need at the business end of the season . Every other team is lifting ,including the Dragons.

Agree about Milford being overweight and also Sam Thaiday. Both these guys looked in great shape at the beginning of the season. What's going on?

You know shits bad when you can't wait for your winger to have a run so you can make some meters
Disagree. Compared to last week the forwards did a lot better collectively did throw the ball a bit more and got us down to the try line and in scoring position a hell of a lot more. If a few last pass options had of been a tad better we would have been over a lot more. Watched a bit of the game again and its true that the march back penalty followed up with two terrible last kick options in a row, really changed the tenacity and momentum of a good start imo

Yeah agreed, I was speaking generally about our forward pack... Game against the Roosters did show improvement

Anyone know if the boys came home Friday? Was kinda hoping WB would have them stay down there this week and have a little getaway/bonding session. It worked last season when we lost to the Chooks... Spent the week down there and refocused, next game was against the bunnies which was the game that really set us up for the GF

We will be much better defensively if we can get McGuire, Thaiday & Gillett back. Roberts wasn't good in defence, but Su'a isn't as good defensively as Gillett is. In fact I reckon he mirrors Gillett's early career a fair bit. We all raved about Gillett's ability to put a big hit on, but he would come out of the defensive line and open up gaps that shouldn't be there, which is what I see a lot of with Su'a. We should also have more grunt in the forward pack with McGuire starting and have it sustained for longer periods with Thaiday & Wallace coming off the bench.

Just wish Gillett kept a bit of his ability to hit in tackles though (although i dont disagree he is one of our best defenders). After Sua put that hit on watson and made him spew the next time he lined him up I noticed watson look up and fall straight at Suas feet. Does keep the half honest and we have missed a hitter for a while so i dont mind it at all. Roberts should be able to take his man when its one on one and that is starting to frustrate me with him. It was the same at the Titans.

Weakening positions to maybe hopefully kind of make another stronger never works.

Boyd, Milford, Hunt and McCullough is the best key position line up Brisbane have. Moving them won't solve anything. I would say it is even more important they're kept in those spots at the moment. Wholesale changes to attack and defence in August never end up well.

Past years when Brisbane have gone through this and they've ended up with players out of position it hasn't changed the result.

They have to fix it as they're in my opinion.
Would really appreciate your opinion on Waddell. Does he have any role to play for the rest of this year?. I thought his last games were very strong for the Broncos.

What is your obsession with Waddell?? He's barely first grade standard.

George Fai made 13 runs for 189 metres last week for Souths Logan... Absolute beast! I think he, Pangai Jr and Ese'ese should all be in the team next year and are all already ahead of Ofahengaue.

Against Norths; coming second last and lost it's two best forwards during the last month.

Not bagging Fai at all but let's look at it in context. Devils missed 62 tackles.

Home Friday morning.

He's good cover; but I don't think he offers an option within a full strength side.

I like waddell and think he did get better. Unfortunately just not a place right now in the team. Fai needs consistency.

Thanks, appreciate the reply

Why is it a matter of concern to you?beads
