POST GAME [Round 23, 2023] Broncos vs Cowbyes

Our middle is exceptional. Everyone of them who chipped in the middle third did a phenomenal job.

Wish there wasn’t so many bombed tries but I would blame the heat. On a different note, want our coaching staff to drill down to our players to not to go for highlights reel but take the tackle and build pressure.

Jock did a good job. Hope he builds on this W & learn some grubbers &/ drop kicks apart from just bombs.

Ezra, Reece, Kurt, Arthur’s were all great.

Interestingly, Smoothy played longer minutes and looked good. If not for our left side coming off, Billy might’ve replaced him at n the last 15-20min. Like this move from Kev.

Moron Parker wanted Cowgirls to score so dearly than Payten. Disgraceful idiot.

The bunker was so eager to take away our challenge when it was Cowgirls who challenged a silly play. Idiots don’t even know who challenged.

Lastly, I’ve been wondering all game the amount of times Cobbo been rushing up in defense, he must surely intercept at least once or even shut the play. Had to wait until the last minute for him to score an intercept try. Glad he bagged one but needs some common sense drilled.

All in all, happy that we smacked the Cowgirls.

I realised in about the 65th minute that our front door was open and I'd been screaming all sorts of obscenities that even Walsh would be shocked with at the ref. Go to shut the door and the whole family across the road is out the front gardening. Oh well, up the boys!
You should have stormed over and given them a spray for eaves dropping.

Tell them you have Tourette syndrome.

Again like the Roosters, Cows didn't play that badly at all. They threw some ammo at the line and couldn't get through.

These sort of wins with injuries are great for learning and tempering. Great win. Frustrated another opposition out of the game. That's a finals quality.

The work our middles did, especially Payne and Patty in that heat, quality work, is just unbelievable. Our fitness levels have improved so much.

Standout games from Piakura, Capes, Palasia as well. Bench was good as a whole yet again.

Flegler I've always liked, but the penalties are an absolute killer and with these young studs I just really don't think we'll miss him much at all.

WE CANNOT FINISH OUTSIDE THE FOUR!

As I said in the game thread, this is clearly a tactic they are employing because staggs is almost always on the wing when this happens. It's worked to great effect in defence the last few games but yes we run the risk of mistiming it giving the opp a chance out wide.

His stats for the game
164 run metres
9 tackle busts
1 line break
1 try

And a bunch of butchered opportunities. He's going well but if he can sort out the blood rushes in attack he'll go to the next level.

I'm now convinced we can win this whole thing. It's between us and Penrith IMO.

Again in that first half we showed that when we put the foot down, very few teams - if any - in the comp can go with us. We play a totally different tempo of footy to Penrith. If we can cut out the errors, there is not a single team in the comp that can beat us.
