I spoke to him 4 weeks ago he said he was confident about coming back for this round, spoke to him last week he said he didn’t want to rush it as it’s still hurting a bit and he didn’t want to risk damaging it more which makes sense.

Now, since we're talking about team lists, then I should give mine (which I guarantee some people will agree with and other will think i'm stupid)

I'd personally name this team with one eye on next season (given how unlikely the finals are for us)

I think it's time for Piakura to get another shot (admittedly, I don't watch too much QLD cup these days, so this is based on others reviews of his performances i have read)

I'd bring back TC, he's been out injured, but i believe he made his return to QLD cup last week

I'd give Mariner another game in the top grade to further his development.

I'd also be tempted to bring back Niu. TMM hasn't been in the same form as before his injury (and at this stage Niu will be our back up fullback in 2023) ... although if Herbie was 100%, i'd throw him in the deep end and see how he goes at fullback

You don't have an eye on next year if you're still in the running this year. Basically tells everyone you've given up on this year. Which is fair enough for the fans but the coach and players definitely shouldn't. Would be a massive slap in the face to the fans. Next year will be sorted out in the off season.

In saying that, I'd probably only argue the Herbie to fullback decision. He's been out for too long to come in and play there and I would worry a loss would kill his drive to succeed in the future.

No Farnworth or Hetherington is disappointing but there's nothing Walters could have done about that situation. Herbie in particular has been a huge loss for the Broncos and their capacity to put together effective get-out sets.

Kobe has struggled in recent weeks with injury, but he suits the modern game and was one of the few players who could help generate good ball plays for the team.

A lot of the selections are no-brainers. Carrigan & Cobbo are both big additions and they'll have to be on their A game for the Broncos to win.

Gamble is easily the most surprising inclusion. Obviously Kev wants to take some of the pressure off of Reynolds and have somebody assert themselves more in general play. It's a strange selection in the sense that it's the final round of the season and Mam was one of the few players who presented any danger to the opposition. I suppose after two 50 point drubbings something had to give and unfortunately for Ezra they aren't going to drop the captain even though he's been playing poorly for weeks now and they have adequate depth to try other options.

Turpin at 9 really does highlight the Broncos issues with the position. I don't want to get too ahead of myself because Paix has been named in reserves and could easily come into the line-up but I don't know how you could watch last week's game and not come to the arrival that they had to make changes there.

With that said, I don't think Paix is playing well enough to make it a no-brainer. I just think it's a case where Kev could have picked Tristan Hope, Liam Horne or Shaun Packer and most fans would have been satisfied.

I think any other selection would have been like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Piakura isn't even in the extended squad my man.

I didn't check the team list before posting and since I have I am completely disappointed. Other coaches I believe would be swapping players around but Walters doesn't have the balls to do it. He isn't right for the job after seeing the list.

TMM at the back offers very little coming out of defence .
Looks small and slow .

Kick to right . Wrap Oates up , dominate TMM and JP and keep the Broncos in their 40 .
