PRE-GAME Round 26 - Cowboys vs Broncos

Former Broncos enforcer Peter Ryan called in to help with defensive training after the Eels effort.
Good news, but this just proves, Wayne is a touch worried.

Broncos know how to defend. They are one of the best defensive sides in the comp when they want to be.

Our problem is attitude. Defence is all about attitude.

Yep attitude is the problem and it comes from your captain down. The way he dropped his head and gave up last week was absolutely pathetic and gone a long way to tearing down a lot of the goodwill he has built up over the last couple of seasons. If he does that ever again, the pitchforks will be out.

That Parramatta result was bad news for the Broncos season, but it's even worse news for the Cowboys season. They're going to have to rely on the doggies to beat dragons to have a chance at the 8.

If the cowboys beat us they are definitely in the 8 which is why this is a massive game for both broncos and cows. They will be desperate and will come hard at us. We better be ready.

So, in regards to goal kicking, if Kahu is unable to take any, Kodi is a legitimate option instead of Milf.

This is hardly conclusive evidence but it suggests Kodi may have some damn good goal kicking.

Only potential issue is if Bennett doesn't want to add anything more to Kodi's plate right now.

After last week I think Kodi doesn't need the addition concerns about goal-kicking. Milford can handle should Kahu fail to player. Let Kodi play his natural game. I also think Hunt is capable as an 80 minute hooker. Let Thaiday carry out his normal forward duties.

How we respond after last week will go a long way to determining how far we actually go in the finals. I want to see a side focused on completing sets, looking to defuse bombs and limiting our error rate, strong chases off kicks, tighter defense especially up the middle. The senior players especially Blair and Boyd need to step up and get the side fired up. It was disappointing last week to see no leadership shown after the early rattling.

Milford got 5/6 goals so why replace him with Niko. If Kahu comes back fine then he can take over.

There could be some truth in this but it might just be Wayne thinking the message might be better delivered by a noted defender.

Exactly, you don't just forget how to tackle.

Those misses on Semi were laughable, Mead's in particular. Any other night where we turn up he doesn't just waltz past.

On Footy QLD, Belcher, Sattler and Tate said that arm grabbing shit is just down to attitude.

I remember the Broncos bringing in Peter Ryan before, it didn't exactly go as they planned.

Is Trevor the axe gillmeister still on our coaching staff? Isn't he a defence specialist? I just haven't heard much about him all season.

Never worked for the Broncos. A role was mooted early in the year but it was one day a week and Gilly said I can't do anything with that.

If manly lose we are in also unless we get a flogging and manly keep it close

I would love nothing more than to beat the Cowboys this Thursday and knock them out of the 8 (if results go the right way). This is the team that have put the nail in our coffin at least the last 3 years. With or without Thurston it would be great to send them packing.

Wouldn't it be class if the loss to Parramatta was tactical to bump the Cows out? I remember a few seasons in the past where certain matches came up with unusual results that led to the Broncos being bumped around the ladder. Imagine if Wayne was like "meh, we need a loss and we can possibly rid of one bogey team if we lose this"...

I've thought it over in my head and I think this should be the team for this weekends game.
1.Boyd
2.Kahu
3.Roberts
4.Moga
5.Oates
6.Milford
7.Hunt (hunt to play 80 min)
8.Ese
9.Macca
10.Blair
11.Gillett
12.Glenn
13.Mcguire
14.Benji
15.Tpj
16.Offa
17.Thiaday
We need Benji back not only to cover our halves and utility but to put pressure on Niko to preform or be hooked.
