We need Benji back not only to cover our halves and utility but to put pressure on Niko to preform or be hooked.

Macca gonna play 80 minutes in a wheel chair? Might get faster service since he doesn't have to bend down in a stance to pass

Sorry meant 9.Hunt play 80 and Niko at 7.

I cringe when you use your head to think up things. eg. Macca.

Macca's brother is playing for him.

Interesting game this, certainly has a different flavour to what I expected when the draw was announced.

On paper I'd say we should win this, but the Cowboys are playing with a hell of a lot of spirit this year despite some big absences. Playing at home with their season on the line, they'll be up for it.

Long term I think JT's absence will be on benefit to Morgan, he looks much more comfortable as their key play maker rather than second fiddle running half off Thurston's lead. Next year I imagine they will be much the better for it.

I expect this to be tight, though more so than the usual 1 point shenanigans. Less than 10 points in it.

I got my players a little mixed up. [emoji23] Hunt at 9 n Niko at 7

Cowboys will be deserved favourites next year, they will have an even better forward pack and JT playing his final season, so they have a great team, well coached, great team spirit and constant leg ups to deliver a great his fairytale swansong, the Cows will be nigh on unstoppable next year.

Nrl probably already scripting the fairy tale. Makes me sick. When's Bennett retiring? That'll be our fairy tale year.

Interesting. Very interesting. Would have thought we don't need Benji because we don't need help scoring points.

Whatever happens this game in regards to combinations will probably be locked in during the finals.

Benji! Imagine sending benji out with another premiership.

Seriously though, I'm worried about our left side defence. Moga and Milford better not get schooled by Morgan!

Bennett Hollers For B Marshall

Tue 29th August, 05:00PM
BENJI Marshall’s standing as one of the best buys of the 2017 season will gain momentum when he is called on again by the Broncos this week.

Ben Hunt has been named in the Broncos’ number-nine jersey ever since Andrew McCullough was ruled out with a knee injury a month ago.

However he has been starting the games on the bench, with Sam Thaiday playing the first 20 minutes at dummy half.
That looks set to change this Thursday night against the Cowboys in Townsville thanks to the season-ending injury to prop Ashton Sims.

Sims broke his arm against the Eels last week, and Thaiday has been named in his place in the number-eight jersey.
With Thaiday reverting to his former life as a hit-up forward, Hunt will start the match at hooker.

Again it is Marshall to the rescue, with the wily half set to play as a utility off the bench against the Cowboys.

He was named in the number 14 jersey today, and could see some time at hooker as Hunt tires.

In good news for the Broncos, winger Jordan Kahu and bench forwards Tevita Pangai junior and Joe Ofahengaue will all make returns to the field.

Kahu missed last week’s loss to the Eels with a groin injury, although it remains to be seen if that one-week rest was enough for him to take back the goal-kicking duties.

Pangai has been cleared to play after a hamstring strain forced him to the sideline for a week.

Ofahengaue should hit the field revitalised after serving a three-week stint on the sidelines for a lifting tackle.

Jai Arrow is the unlucky one, dropping out of the 17 despite playing strongly in Ofahengaue’s absence.

Jaydn Su’A, David Mead and Norths Devils Intrust Super Cup half Todd Murphy are listed as cover on the extended bench.

Can see Marshall and Nikorima changing before kick off. To me Nikorima offers much much more in attack as an impact player compared to Marshall. One of Nikorimas strengths is his speed. That's why he was so effective in 2015.

Let Marshall start this game and see how he goes. I think if Wayne really wants to persist with a back on the bench then Kodi offers more then Marshall does coming off the bench
