That’s a good choice and I’m looking forward to seeing what Jensen does with the chance, he looked really good in the trials and up against his old team.

Nicho Hynes really was the one who got away. We'd be in such a stronger position if we could've landed him. And we all knew it at the time.
Yes, 100% correct, I was saying the very same thing watching him the other night.

Many predicted that he would struggle outside of the Storm structure. That was never going to be the case as he has a knack for finding the open spaces. His lateral awareness is the best in the business and he just seems effortless out there and almost always creates an opportunity in the red zone.

Now that he is playing in the halves, he has basically taken that team over. Playmaker, goal kicker, motivator and even takes a hit up or two deep in their own zone.

The Broncos didn't chase hard enough for him. At the right price, he would have gladly moved north. I'm happy that we landed ARey but we would be so much better off with Nico. But again, many doubted his ability without Bellamy. It's only 3 games in but he is early favourite for Dally M player of the year.

With our cap as fucked as it apparently is though, it’s probably more a case of Reynolds or Hynes, not both.

If that is the case, I’m happy with the decision we made. Reynolds has been the man for Souths for a decade. Hynes is still cutting his teeth in the NRL.

There’s been plenty of examples of one season wonders (none better than Tim Smith), so given the predicament our club was in (I think it’s also important to remember we needed a captain and Hynes is not that), I have absolutely no regrets.

Indeed, I’m very much reserving my judgement on Hynes until he’s had a season or two with the weight of a team resting on his shoulders. After all, look what that did to Milford.

I'd swap Tyson, Herbie and Tesi for Nicho.

I defiantly never thought he would struggle away from Storm. He’s a class player. My only concern for him was that he may struggle as the primary play maker (which we wouldn’t have used him for anyway) but he’s showing already that he’s very capable. Would’ve been an ideal fullback option for us.

Fair enough take as well mate. I have to say if the choice was Reynolds or Hynes, I am pretty comforable with Reynolds as well.

Why were you defiant?

Would you also relocate us to NSW ... because that's what it would have taken to get him

Like those other great cities of New South Wales- Mackay and Sunshine Coast.

Hmmm, pretty sure that was before he had NRL clubs ready to throw cash at him.

Both he and DD made it clear he wanted to be in NSW closer to family ... which is why we never made an offer
