POST GAME [Round 3, 2022] Broncos vs Cowboys

It is a risk without a doubt and should have been a preseason thing but moving Herbie to fullback right now with no time in the jersey is already an improvement on what Tesi is dishing up.

Isaako in the pre-season and against the Rabbitohs, he looks like he has turned a corner and will get back to being the Isaako we all know and loved.

He had a bludger past couple of years, but when you see the interview he did with the NRL over what happened with his father, it's no wonder why his footy was affected. The bloke would rock up to training and sit in his car and break down. But it looks like he has finally made peace and has accepted it and is moving on. I was expecting him to have a big year this year.

For mine, Broncos should have stuck with him and gone in the market this year for a fullback to take over for next year.

I've never really rated Tesi all that much. He certainly isn't our answer at fullback.

No, you clearly do not have 15K+ posts, you are not responsible.

Definitely bottom 3 with Laurie and Campbell but the latter two have more potential.
I rate Campbell pretty highly, Laurie isn't too bad either. I'm not convinced Sloan is above them. But Niu is dead last so far.

Bit gutted by the fact it was a loss to my most hated team. Tomorrow I'll watch a replay and figure out exactly who let us down but on first impressions I thought our go forward was average at best and our line speed had all but disappeared. Very poor efforts from Turpin, 2 penalties first 9 minutes and total crap from Uni costing us points like last week didn't help. When I knew the weather was warm and balmy I thought we were going to struggle, it was so NQ like.

Staggs is the most remedial play we have..
I can't even think what to write.,.... ****, ****..... ****.. this shit and I have just cooled down!!!!
Drop him!!
Back ISC to learn your trade young fella!

As most know I've always rated Isaako and was appalled to hear he wasn't first choice in any position at the Broncos. I said Uni never impressed me last year and this year he has been poor for the two games so far. I believe it's a stupid decision to let Isaako go and he would be running out next week if I was in charge.

It's already been answered, it is all the fault of me and my fellow 15k posts posters.

issako on his day was great he just needed to get it together and have that day once a week on game day.
His trial form and round 1 against the Rabbitohs he was solid and looked to have improved his game and I would of kept him around for the season because Tesi isn't the answer and you could see that last season.

There's no sugar coating it we were downright bad. The Cows ran harder, tackled harder and beat us in every area of the game. We never even looked like getting into the game.

The 1 million dollar question... WHY?? What happened.

Sometimes you just have these games where its just not your night and there is no real reason why. Most teams will have at least one game like that a year. However for me i think it was a hangover from the last two weeks.

The boys have had two tight wins and starting to receive some hype and have just gone out there today expecting to win and for things to come easy. The best thing for them now is to go home and look in the mirror and realise they haven't achieved shit, teams still see us a joke and the only way this changes is to put 100% in every week and win games.

For me it's not panic stations yet. But next week against the warriors becomes absolutley huge. Its a winnable game and another performance like tonight and Kevie starts to get very hot under the collar.

Tonight was strike one for this side. We aren't going to win every game but our losses have to be better then that. Had we have lost week 1 and 2 there wouldn't have been mass dissapointment as there was improvement from last year. This game was a big regression from round 1 and 2.

Lets hope today was an anomaly.
Bulldogs beat us in every metric but points and they are the lowest scoring team of the first 3 rounds. The Rabbitohs completed at 66% and it was still a tight game.

Our attack has been the worst of any team so far this season, and we have Adam Reynolds. Our scramble and goal line defence has improved but this is more attitude than skill. On the other hand our general defensive structures are still disjointed and lack urgency or line speed.

We’ve managed a total of 7 tries.
1 was Kelly’s intercept
1 was Herbie’s strip
1 was Herbie’s (questionable)penalty try
1 was from a lucky bounce on an arsey Reynolds kick (Herbie)

That leaves 3 tries from actual attacking plays
- Oates cut out from Capewell
- Herbie from the scrum
- the other Oates try I can’t remember

Including the trials I haven’t seen anything that suggests we have improved in any technical way since last year. The exception being as I said, goal line defence which is attitude not skill. So credit to Kev, he has somewhat improved their resilience, however nothing was really thrown at us the first 2 weeks either and today we faced a team with some actual attack and we looked like wet paper again.

It’s just a really poorly coached team. Aimless in attack, disjointed in defence. Poor game awareness in every facet - getting dragged in goal instead of finding the grass, not pressuring kickers, not protecting your own kicker, not blocking kick chases, throwing the ball around in our own half when up by 7, etc etc.

I won’t place blame, maybe we’ve just stumbled upon a group of uncoachable players, despite a turnover of over 12 players during the off season we’ve lucked out and found more uncoachable players.

It's not so much the lack of running that makes Turps bad, it's his lack of fluidity when stepping out of dummy half and passing. How can our forwards be expected to get a roll on when Turps is so clunky? A lot of the time they have slow down or stop completely to catch the ball because he either hasn't gotten to the correct speed before passing or hasn't passed accurately enough.

And this is before mentioning his poor pass selection and inability to pass with speed or length.

The call was more threatening out of dummy half- I was just pointing out I don't think you will get that from Paix either.

I think Paix's pass is better.

We lost because we didn't want to get into the arm wrestle first. We kept trying to go around them before we earned the right.

Our forwards kept running angles and passing before the line. Instead, what they should have been doing was trying to run the **** over their opposite number.

I wasn’t sold on Niu since his first game and nothing he’s done since then has changed my view. We’ve had some dumb footballers in recent times but he really takes top spot in that department.
He’s a complete liability in D and nowhere near good enough in attack to compensate for those failings
