I know people want Willison starting, but we really shouldnt. We need the impact from the bench from him. I think you take that away if you start him.

I guess he essentially did start tonight and thought he did well considering the circumstances, but agree, it is best for him at this stage of his career to come off the bench.

Coming in off his wing, positionally, he should have been more disciplined. He knows the role so while it wouldnt have helped him having a back rower next to him, i still think he should have been better defensively.

I actually think that was his worst game as a Bronco. He's had 3 poor games in a row now. I'd be swapping him and Smoothy and if he cant pick his game up from the bench, i'd give whoever is playing better out of Paix and Mozer a run from the bench.

No offence but I think most wingers score week in week out. Kobe had a good run, Patty is never not solid and Jensen was just Jensen. We played like shit and our defence was horrible. Poor game, nothing to cheer about - We got flogged. Bad signs for our upcoming run. We missed Haas of course and Arey's leadership was nowhere to be seen. Confident we miss the 8 this year. Baker is an absolute plodder, and needs to be replaced by Hunt, who is another plodder, but at least he can cover an edge. I would honestly rather carry Oates on the bench and get him to play prop for 20 mins and be outside back cover.

I honestly think the 18th man should be enabled in that scenario, where a player is infringed on and injured and can't return. If they had have let sailor come into the game it would probably have been a grand final rematch.

They don't do this because teams ::cough:: melbourne ::cough:: would miraculously fail a HIA on one of those piss weak 'reportable incidents' off a dive and have fresh legs sitting there ready to go to finish off the game.

If we're going to carry "poor" why not blood Te Kura - he's not ready - but shit, if poor is the acceptable standard, why not give the young blood some lessons.

We've got space in our 30, I seriously think donuts and kev have some thinking to do. Losing two of our top 17 forwards has exposed our lack of depth in the position and the injury cover at best rorters player and old marty aren't 40 minute players. We need to bring in the next gen or find a ringer from rugby.

I dont think i am really. You need players to step up and help out players alongside them who are forced to play out of position. In this case Piakura should have been guided by Arthars and Mam who are both experienced enough to do that. I dont think they did it.

People will roll with thinking Kev was talking about Sailor for the bench role, but he was only speaking about Sailor as he was 18th tonight.

I'll be shocked if he is not more thinking of Oates on the bench.

Tristan will be the obvious replacement if Walsh is out, but I dunno if you can run a bench with Sailor on it.

Sailor can cover 1/6/7 but Oates lets us cover the whole backline. You lose a centre or winger, Sailor is not going to be any better than playing an edge forward there.

Agreed. He's Super League bound. Why Kevvie continues to select him with the likes of Willy waiting in the wings is beyond me.

I can see where people are coming from with Oates in attack as a second rower battering ram but he would have nowhere near the fitness required to defend in the middle for anything more than a 10-15 minute stint before becoming a liability.
