Reece still camps out wide way too much where the defence is just waiting for him. He needs to be hiding around the ruck and looking for the offloads. Haas, carrigan and even Kobe are getting those half breaks without any support other than a stationary paix or Walters.

I thought Kobe was good first game, but i think we are missing Patty at lock. I havent been overly impressed with Kobe sadly. He's been solid, but hasnt really done enough to replace Carrigan. Problem is though Patty has been a machine at prop as well.
Its the worst decision if have seen in the new outfit so far. Heatherington is a small forward that has good footwork and speed that is best injected off the bench around some tired middles. Having him starting is a mistake. Carrigan could be a prop but he shouldnt be. He is far to smart. Being the weapon he is he is just good at everything that he does but he is a far better lock than he is prop.

We aremissing Mam for this. When Shibasaki made that break how many of us were expecting little Mam to run up and take the draw and pass? I was!

He's not getting better, he's regressing from 2023 and it’s not like he is some inexperienced kid anymore. He's played more than enough first grade.
His whole attitude and demeanour is getting worse. I just don’t know how they get him out of this slump. Coming close to last in the fitness test during pre season really showed what was to come. His energy level is low and is continuously making the same mistakes week in and week out.

Carrigan is a prop, his output shows he's a top quality one as well. I've been wanting him at prop since before he even made his debut.

He's still a better prop than a lock imo, but when you dont have a better performer to step into the 13 shirt then thats where the issue is.

I think Walsh had a good game and he's trying to get into the game. That amazing try he set up for Arthurs was vital and it all come from Walsh getting more time with the ball out the back.
Brandy is the shittest caller and is the reason for the heat on Walsh tonight. Twice Arthars dropped the ball and he called that it was Walsh. Laughable. I agree, Walsh was rocks and diamonds but i actually think he was the reason we won. The 40/20 was elite and the cut out pass was pure class.

I’m not convinced Reece’s issues are because he is down on confidence. I genuinely think he is still trying far too hard.
He wants to score off every single play. Just hold the ball and get tackled. Stop pushing every ball. We dont need to score off every play ffs.
100% just get back to basics, please.
Agree for the most part, don’t forget he still made a number of hard runs out of trouble. He didn’t shirk the tough stuff and as bad as he was, he kicked the 40/20 that got us back in the game.

Yes, he is far suited as a lock for out team than prop. Your right.

Unbelievable that Brandy found time to talk given that Dylan Edwards' edamame sized ballsack lives in his mouth

Good to get the win and this may be an unpopular opinion but I think a lot of teams are punishing us and beating us with this performance tonight. Payne haas and a good kicking game from Reynolds won us this game tonight. Walsh looks to be struggling mentally atm and forcing big play far too often, he really dosent like being tackled with the ball and seems to prefer to throw a hospital pass or a rushed nothing on pass to his teammate rather then take a hit. Our backs need to be more involved they are not to the standard of the top Nrl clubs in toughness. Early season so I can’t be too harsh but I do hope to see some improvements moving forward

One of those "frustrating wins" this one.

We might need to be worried that we're simply getting outcoached. That is two times now our opposition have come out with the intent to rattle our cage. The Cows got the playbook from Canberra and did it for a lot of that game, but luckily for us they were shit enough to gift us opportunities.

Opposition defences have the Walsh sweep play well and truly found out. They are up in his face real early and not giving him any room to breathe, and he is error prone enough that it will work for them most of the time. He needs to start going looking for offloads up the middle more often.

Shibasaki had his best game in first grade so he can see Staggs coming up in the rear view mirror. Second rowers still unimpressive but Piaks to his credit was running with a bit of starch. Thank god Haas is a natural freak because he is far and away our best right now.
