Idk if only i have picked up on this, but i pretty much gauarntee every time a team does the short drop out agaisnt us we will never get the ball back, its happned lile 99.99 percenr of the time the last few years, surely they can do some drills on it, they look like they never have any urgency to get the ball
Haha it’s not just you mate.
I’m at a point where I’m not even excited at the prospect of getting a “repeat set” to “build pressure”.
We just don’t wind up with possession often enough.

Eating my own words to an extent but I think our attack is missing Mam.

Defence was good overall. Showed a lot of resilience in that first half. A good foundation to build upon.

Walsh had like 6 errors and 2 penalties. The guy is cooked. He will come good but I hope his team mates are patient with him - he contributes to like 36 extra tackles a game .

The only really good thing about tonight's game was our line speed. That definitely improved, we were in their face alot more and off the line quicker, real good. Our overall defense a close 2nd.

HOWEVER

I cannot believe how diabolical Reece is, it's hard to watch and making me not like him as a player. You can tell he's a show pony. Just wants to score off EVERY play, his decision making is horrendous. He's just not good atm. Defenses have worked him out, all you have to do is put pressure on him, get in his face and he'll make an error. He's hurting our team more than anything and I hope he does get suspended for 1-2 weeks. He needs to figure it out.

Overall as a team we are very disjointed and clunky. I can't believe what I'm seeing at times, for the amount of talent we have, we would of lost to 99% of teams tonight.
Reece is still green. Has bucketloads of unlockable potential.
His ceiling is higher than most and a lot of his potential will be reached with game time and experience.

In fact he is easly the most talented young player in the NRL right now.and will only get better when he reaches his mid to late 20's.

The bloke is still a kid and has tons to learn.

I'm here to watch him turn into a once in a generation player.

Every time we get a line drop-out I'm mentally willing them to kick it long.

It's so fucked lol 😆

Cowteets played their best game all year (expected). We soaked up heaps of pressure in the first quarter and looked like we had more energy at the end of the game. Liking how fit we are but there's a lot to work on if we're going all the way.
Compared to 23 support runners are non existent!? We scored so many points from support in 23. I know Briers is gone but how can a playing group forget how effective that was?
Walsh was rocks and diamonds (compared to just rocks last week) saw a couple of plays where his body wanted to throw the ball, stopped for a split second and then ran. Another poster mentioned last week he might be at the transition where his body is going for the miracle play and his head is going for the smarter option. It's looking like that may be the case and hopefully he has more diamonds with that mindset moving forward.
Cobbo, haas, reyno, carrigan and shiba had a cracker.
Wins a win and plenty of time to get the whole package together

I believe he has the potential as well but like you said he’s not there yet. So why is he being paid a million bucks so soon and being picked first for origin?

We have been saying this for 3 years. He unfortunately is getting worse. 10 errors in 2 games. Horrible stats. I'm actually hoping he gets 2 weeks suspension to work on a few things

Positive: We held them out the first 30.

Negative: It was only the Cowboys. Any other team with that much ball and territory score 3 tries on us.

**** me, Walsh is putting his outside players under pressure.

We played terribly and Todd Smith was awful with a predictably lopsided count to keep the game close. Happy to get the 2 points.

Walsh needs to put away the pass for a few games and just run.
Defence in first 20 was much better than last year. That won us the game.

Hope Reece gets a week for shoulder charge....needs a week off.

Selwyn to FB. Mariner to wing Staggs back in.

Haas is immense!

Unpopular opinion, I'd drop Mariner instead of Shibasaki for Staggs.
For mine provides better overall balance and not sure what it is but Mariner looks as though he's a mistake waiting to happen.
Gehmat just looks like a first grader
Shibasaki adds nothing to the team, Mariner has athleticism and potential to be something, plus Mariner isn’t a snail

I thought Kobe was good first game, but i think we are missing Patty at lock. I havent been overly impressed with Kobe sadly. He's been solid, but hasnt really done enough to replace Carrigan. Problem is though Patty has been a machine at prop as well.
Pat doesn't look a happy camper. Playing prop because it's best for the team but probably wants to play lock.
I'd like to see him go back to 13 , we have plenty of props. Kobe can play from the bench if he wants.
