So you're suggesting Ezra switches between halfback and 5/8?

I am just trying to my head around what you've come up with.
This is getting tedious man.

Listen to what Ezra has been saying about wanting to play 7 and you figure the rest out.

Madden is finished. Nice bloke, but he's a dud.

I just can't see Ezra playing halfback until Reynolds retires, it's probably not a great idea from Kev to put Ezra under that sort of pressure until that point in time either, he's a natural 5/8 and one of the better ones.

I am coming from an angle of who fills in for Reynolds when/if he's injured. I don't think it's wise to have Ezra doing that and we've never seen Tristan Sailor do it. So that's where I am coming from.

I think Sailor has shown a handbrake this season so far, it's only been three games-two Cup and one NRL.

Still been eight errors in those three games, but there is a slight change in how he is making them. I don't think he attempted one ripping pass last night. Which is his go to play.

It's impacting Souths because their attack is terrible, and I am sure Hunt wishes he'd find some middle ground between Sailor 21-23 and the first three weeks of this year, but he's certainly found a more patient gear.

Mind you Mozer, Te Kura and Pereira are all dropping balls in the first three games, so Souths are still making more than their share.

Pereira 4 in two games
Mozer 4 in three games
Sailor 3 in two games
Te Kura 5 in three games

Last week was horrendous, between Pereira, Mozer and Te Kura errors/handling errors was 12.
Yeah Sailor played a much more controlled game last night than I was ever expecting, less involved in set plays than I thought he would be and no real bold plays, just doing much more running instead.

Mchunts right. Madden will be let go. We will probably garner mam/sailor halves combo at some point and probably black will come through in the mix as well. Who knows what will happen, but while reyno plays as well as he did yesterday. Who the **** cares!

Well Madden leaves we can spend the money elsewhere

While I do think Sailor is more comfortable on the Right(where the 7 plays for us), Sailors kicking game is more on the short kicks, he would have to work alot to build the rest.

I think Sailor would work at Centre tbh, he surprisingly worked well as a meter eater in the last game even with his small body but he is like Mam with that slingshot acceleration from a stand still and great hands for offloads and tap passes.

I think if he stays here he could be used as a 17 utility spine/outside back player, cover for Fullback, Wing, Centre, Halves, Hooker and possibly lock if late game.

I would definitely have him as first choice 6 cover at this point.

If I'm honest though he is far too good to not be playing fullback for an NRL team though, there is several teams out there that would improve right now if he was their fullback(Canberra, Dogs, Dragons, Titans especially).

Doesn't that picture you're referring to show that he is clearly onside? Back foot of Oates is clearly behind the ball when kicked or have the rules changed?
Offside. A player is offside if he has one foot (either on or off the ground) in front of a teammate who 'last. touches, is touched, held or kicked the ball'. Section 14 (1) In relation to kick, an active offside player shall not encroach within 10 metres of the ball, when there is an opponent waiting for the ball.

Either way, I’m cheering!! Great for Oatsey! No complaints here

Yeah I was saying the same thing last night. He's gonna get snapped up to play fb somewhere.. don't know how he goes defending in the line to be a Centre. I think mams kicking game will be good. I thought it was better than maddens when he kicked the other week while reyno was out

Well, there is this

Upon re-re-re-re watching the highlights, the Cows were lucky to get even the 1st try as the wet ground helped Val into the in-goal. Ricky basically lifted and dragged him into our in-goal. If we had a dry track, I think Ricky would have pulled him just short of scoring.

As much as I like him playing for us I feel bad how much its holding up his career that has already had alot of set backs as he is 26, he needs to find a team to play regular football.

He is good player that deserves a shot.
