POST GAME Round 4 - Broncos vs Cowboys

He can work on his kicking. If he is determined enough to put in the practice like Cronk thats something he can add to his game.

Greg Inglis must've been in the control room last night. The score came up as 22-20 after the Milf FG, only briefly but still funny.

Watching the game again. Gillett absolutely scored. When he changed arms, he had both arms on the ball for the swap. Even Brandy agrees, which is enough for me given how much he death rides the Broncos.

I think a lot of our problems in the second half of games stems from a lack of go-forward.. As games wear on we really struggle to roll through the middle and get into try scoring positions.. It makes it harder for our kickers to put a good end on our sets and puts a tonne of pressure on our defense.. It's not going to be solved on a consistent basis until our young forwards fully mature or we go shopping for a 'cannon ball' or two

I agree with this to a point yet I thought our go-forward was pretty good.

The issue for me is that we have a killer right hand side and last night showed it. We should be aiming to get the ball out wide a lot lot more than turning it into the middle too much for my liking.

The left hand side is also good in attack but the defence out there is a worry.

As for Hunt, he really needs to get his head together and his hands on the ball a hell of a lot more. Hopefully last night will turn things around for him.

If you got time check out the press conference with Green and JT, sour grapes and then some.

Our go forward is good. Our last tackle options and passive defence is what lets the opp forwards get a roll.

Agree with you. I thought our forwards stood too flat (and flat footed) in attack a bit much last night but overall the go-fwd was good.

If our last tackle option were better, we would have put another 12 on them.

I really thought the Dogs forwards showed how a great forward's running and passing game should be executed yesterday when they annihilated the bunnies.

I see the Dogs as a real threat this year if their forwards keep that style of energy and ball movement amongst their forwards going.

We have shown we can do exactly the same. Let's do it.

I saw that too! Was hilarious.

Figured the field goal was that good it deserved the 2. But your reasoning is way better! :D

Wow, everyone's turning on Hunt. Show some loyalty to the guy that gave 4 years to the club out of position and with no guarantees.

His kicking game and decision making needs to improve, no doubt. But for the last 30 minutes the refs put the whistle away and the Cows took every liberty. We could barely get out of our end because their markers were split on every ruck, if our runners ran straight they'd be tackled immediately and with no penalties given. So they try to run around and make no metres anyway. Salt in the wound was Milford getting penalised for it himself, leading to their penalty shot and 20-all.

Consequently, Hunt is not only kicking from the 30, with the opposition in his face. The best kicking game in the world will be nullified in those circumstances.

Give the champ some credit for not being in a straight jacket.

Imo the last tackle plays (kicks) would improve markedly if we were rolling forward with the same power as a lot of opposition teams come at us.. It's much easier to pick your spots with a kick when your team has made 60m on that set and the defense is back pedaling.. So many times last night Hunt et al were kicking from inside our half after a set that only yielded 30-40m with one-out runs and slow play the balls

I think everyone incl media is being too hard on hunt. Apart from his kicking game .. its not desevered. Same thing happened to Milf last year there for a while... wasnt worth what we paid blahblahblah... now look. Hes the go to man for the moment. Hunt may suffer a bit by that but he will adjust and find his groove. Until then plenty of kicking practice is on order for sure

absolutely, with runners like milf and roberts, a kicking and (possible) steering/strategic foil like mccullough and battering rams.like oates kahu and boyd we JUST need a kicker now.

i dont want to heap shit on the bloke because we've won without that kind of polish last year and again last night so it sure needs some tweaking, and like b4l says its sad that some fans can turn so harshly so quickly on not just any punk blow in but the guy who waded out wallace, prince and that phoney norman, and benched his efforts for a season plus when suitors wouldve happily given him a crack, who kept the dim light shining in 2014 when sweet **** all else was worth cherring for, oh and helped steer.the team to a GF last year...

..but yeah, if he wants to be more than a local/fan favourite then he's gonna habe to spend some serious time working on that part of his game

not sure if im goin mad but i swear to christ ch9 didnt even fucking show the one angle from his open side behind the dead ball line DURING the decision! so granted i was a little unsure at the time, but during the recap they showed that angle and i cant for the life of me believe there was any doubt.

i thought after thr thursdy and even friday games during round 1 the bunker started off perfectly and granted after all the shit im used to with RL administration i couldnt bring.myself to congratulate them out loud sooner, but im glad i didnt.

the highlight of the officiating so far has been whatshisnames missus on the touchline at pepper stadium, phew she has some junk in the trunk.

other than that it just makes me wanna go watch afl.. except the lions are the new suns. seriously the only worse performing employed people in this country are politicians. it makes me sick, id say it was a conspiracy but you'll see any number of teams cop it occasionally i guess. not that it evens out, struth did the cowboys have a license to **** shit up in the ruck last night or what? its like storm wrestling or roosters prof fouls all over again. WTAF?

You are absolutely right Morks. I was thinking about this last night. last year everyone kept saying how bad Hunts kicking was when will he could do was punt it downfield for territory that we couldn't get with out forwards. He doesn't get the field position Thurston does. We might have it once or twice but then we concede the length of the field in defense. This is where McCullough pays his way with his ruck defense and 40/20's. We really ought to try spreading it wide sooner than the 4th or 5th tackle as the Cowboys were all over us and the our outside backs show time and again they can pierce the line.

Thank you.

Does Maranta get a week on the sidelines?

They spend so much time whinging about the obstruction, which was surely one of the more clear-cut calls in the game. You mightn't agree with the rule, dipshits, but it's still the rule. It was obstruction every day of the week.

Also would be interesting to see what happens to McGuire for his elbow.
