I tend to think Hunt is ready for more responsibility, he is playing really well at the moment. Hard to see Hook flicking Macca for Hunt at this stage though.

I agree with both posts about Hunt except, at this stage at least, Hunt's defence seems a little suss whereas Macca is really good which is what you need in the first 20 minutes or so. On that basis, and unlike Gillett, Hunt off the bench.

Back to Gillett (sorry), I think there's something special about being in the run-on side, especially when you first take the field, say at Suncorp. I think that's what Gillett needs to feel, to really pump him, to get that extra from him, and to show him the club is really serious about keeping him.

I'm okay with Gillett starting off the bench. In time, I'm sure he'll push his way into the starting side... it's almost inevitable. But for now, it's working, so why change it?

As schmix said earlier, he's probably playing just as many minutes as he would if he started, plus we seem to get a huge boost when he comes on, no matter what the game situation is.

O yes. I keep having this wet dream where Gillett breaks early from the scrum, does a worked, wrap around move with Wallace/Norman, hits the line and offloads to Hodges who either scores or puts away the winger. What a dangerous attacking duo - Gillett and Hodges working together.

Or ... Creagh makes a break only to get sat on his arse by a bone crushing tackle by .... Gillett.

Gillett's starting! Talked about it last week, great to see him rewarded - with Parker out, he's too good to be on the bench.

And with Copley, I actually think he's a better more consistent player than Gagai at this point in time (aside from his handling however, hopefully that's improved since last year).
