Round 5 - Titans vs. Broncos - Post Match Discussion

Good to finally get a win on the board.
After today I actually believe we're a top 8 team and not wooden spoon quality.

What's that 58 points in 2 weeks? Looks like our attack has well and truly kicked into gear.

I still think Prince has to go and that Macca needs a massive rocket up his arse.

Wow.. Last week wasn't a fluke. Great team performance IMO. Forwards worked hard and halves did the job. Stoked to get the win. Boys will be full of confidence for next weekend

The only players I'm disappointed in were Wallace, Prince and Maranta. The rest were mostly very good, though McCullough was shocking in the first. Parker deserves credit for leading the forwards in the absence of both Thaiday and McGuire.

Bittersweet really. Wallace sucked, so did Prince. I thought Norman was critical to the early tries and now he's just improving for the Eels in 2014, whilst we'll have an older Prince and Wallace still. Bleh.

I'm really happy to see last week wasn't a once off fluke. Looks like this team has it in them to be competitive this year... if only we swap Hunt for Prince and but Baptise on the bench.

Not to rub it in to shitty Titans fans but what's all the talk of deserving respect and big brother and all that bullshit? Lol. Dominated.

Rarely bet games involving the Broncos, making an exception tonight ...

Broncos +4.5 (half a unit)

The left hand back line plays looked good. Need some finessing tho

The last two matches have been very encouraging, we still need work on our attack but at least there are signs there that we have the potential to put on tries not just purely on the back of luck, something I don't think we can say happened in the back end of last season. I think we are playing with a lot more energy and focus in the last two games and the Dragons game then I have seen from the Broncos in a long time. Hodges makes a huge difference in the scheme of things, even if his not scoring a bucketload of tries he just seems to be able to get us rolling in attack and fired up.

Oh and Titans, RESPECT IS EARNT :001_tt2:

What did Wallace do wrong tonight? I honestly saw nothing to be disappointed in him with

A continuation of what we have been building towards the last 3 games. Like I said in the match thread, I'm glad for the win but more glad we are playing some footy.

It's nothing over the top either just a bit of selective second phase play and backing up. It becomes infectious when everyone knows it's on.
The question still remains though, why haven't we been doing this all year and toward the end of last year when playing that one out rubbish wasn't going close.

Norman was good even though he bombed a couple and a full year back there will do him the world of good. I thought Hannant was good as well and Gillett is starting to come good. Reed is back since he's getting some early ball.

We just look better since the boys are being allowed to play

A few bad choices with the ball in hands, but he did support well to score a try and I thought he had a mixed kicking game tonight, but he wasn't that bad, still both him and Prince need to step up and if they do well things could improve a fair bit. I bagged Prince in the live thread from his first half display but he pulled off some nice passes in the second and thats what I want to see more from him, he really does need to get his kicking game in order, people bag Wallace but geez we can't afford touch finders to always go out on the full.

can the broncos still exercise this Rd 13 last right of refusal thing with Norman ?

Wallace, Norman and Hoffman were my top 3 tonight. I still think we'll struggle against a decent team, but we are finally headed in the right direction.

We'll need a new play now though, teams know about our left hand attack.

You didn't see Kelly scoot past him like he wasn't there to score the Titans first try...?

Still not concerned that he's gone. He looked better than Wallace and Prince, but that's not exactly difficult. And ball playing at fullback is a lot easier than in the halves, you are usually running at only 2 defenders.
