PRE-GAME Round 5 - Titans vs Broncos

Blair and Hodges are the only listed injuries so I guess Joe was dropped.

offa was always expected to have a break from first grade. he was never going to stay in the 17 every week. still developing.

definitely interested to see garbutt.

For once I think having Thaiday as a starting prop is a great idea. I have never rated him in that position but this is the first time he will start there with the right motivation. At last he knows perform or perish. WB appears to be raising the bar for Thaiday, making it an even bigger ask to shine. I expect Thaiday to absolutely bust a gut, hell he could even retain the spot for several more games if he guns it.

I hope Garbutt gets his chance. We will start favourites but like others have said, unless we consider the opposition to be as good as Souths( makes me puke calling Souths the benchmark) we could be embarrassed. The tits will not be easy.

Yes. This is great. Titans is a good opportunity to trial some younger props.

Great to see Copley back at center. Keen to see how his return goes.

the timing aint all that bad for him, as now he gets some time at centre to show he deserves to keep it when hodges returns.

Kinda disappointed to not see Joe get another run. Maybe this is just part of Bennett's plan to give him a little taste and make him work harder to get more? It's what he did to Thaiday in his first year.

Happy to see Garbutt get a game. Keen to see what he can offer us as his size and skills seem different to our other props. Kinda disappointed to see Blair out though. Bar one game I think he's been ordinary but I want to see him get a solid run without any injuries or excuses so we can get a full showing of what it is he can (or can't) offer us.

If Sam can't do well against this pack then they should just drop him.

Titans have been very soft in the middle.

He might also need longer minutes than he is getting in first grade every so often Ari. I don't read too much into his demotion

so blair just has a corked thigh? wouldnt be surprised if he plays, though theres no real need to push it. not to say the boys should take the game easy, but if we turn up to play then we will get the win.

Im pretty sure we'll see Dodds and Garbutt get a run.
Bennett has shown he is willing to give the guys off the bench a good run to show what they can do. Even a games grace in case of a bad start.

Teams as good as can expected.

Good to have Copley back, hope he makes a strong case for a permanent centre spot. Also pleased to see Garbutt get a run, hopefully he makes the most of the opportunity.

Can take or leave Dodds and Thaiday at prop. Somewhat logical I suppose given Blair's injury and Ofahengaue getting a bit of time in the lower grades. Regarding the latter, I think it's a good move to bring him along gradually.

Doubt Molo will get a run, but all the best to him if it eventuates.

Ultimately I'm liking the little variances in the 17 we've seen so far. Whether by design or circumstance, it's good to see players jostling for spots in the first choice side.

Think this game is ours to lose really. Hopefully we can see them put in a composed 80 minute effort here.

Interesting decision to put Thaiday at prop...

Curious about what Molo and Garbutt will bring, although I don't think Molo will get a chance.

Hopefully Ofa's demotion is not about his performance, but like Splinter said, to give him more minutes in the lower grades.

Back to NYC for three weeks.

I hate Thaiday at prop ... Is our forward depth really so bad that we have to play Thaiday at a position he has always sucked at.

IMO, we would have been better of playing Parker at prop. He doesn't play any different any way. Thaiday could then start at lock.

Truthfully Foordy that is a reasonable suggestion but really, on the field it is hardly going to be different. Either way you name it it is going to be pretty much the same...Six of one ,half a dozen of the other

Is there any reason he's returned to NYC and not QLD Cup? I would have thought the latter was a much better place to condition a forward for the NRL.
