PRE-GAME Round 6 - Broncos vs Roosters

I would have preferred the Roosters to win today

@shannonbyrne23: Bad news continues for @sydneyroosters Trent Robinson confirms Aidan Guerra's broken jaw and needs wiring. @abcgrandstand #NRLRoostersSharks

We can beat them and we will beat them. If we are gonna be serious this year, we need to match it with the best at their best.

Yeah I don't know, chooks win today and they are a 'well oiled machine' and be hard to beat next week-they loose and 'they'll be looking to hit back'and be hard to beat next week... As much as I can't stand them they are a good side and next week is always going to be a challenge. I was hoping though that the Sharks bashed them around a bit to add to the quick turn around, and those couple of handling errors is hopefully a sign of a bit of form loss.

Lots of uncharacteristic errors from the Roosters, even the halves. Wobbily forward pass, knocking on in goal from a kick off that would have gone out on the full. The latter happened during the Rooster last minutes comeback and was followed by Bird backing himself to cross the line and seal the result. Perfectly timed for Cronullas first win of the season.

That's my reaction when I realise Hadley is calling the game. It's a conspiracy. They know the Broncos rate on a Friday but don't like it, so are trying to put people off. I'm slightly more serious than you'd think.

I think they said in the coverage that the Broncos v Roosters is the main game therefore Warren will be commentating. Something about needing to make sure the pillows were acceptable in Brisbane.

Guerra is a huge loss. That might mean that Kennedy comes onto the bench for them lol

Added incentive to beat them.

We need to attack Maloney. It was noticeable today that his poor showing early on seemed to drag the team down with him

Dunno whether anyone mentioned it, but Yvonne asked Lockyer about Hodges playing on Friday and he said "He thinks he will be able to, if not, next week at the latest"

I didn't see the game. Does he defend on the same side as Guerra? His defence has always been shocking, the Roosters are doing fantastic to hide him in the line. If Guerra is normally his bodyguard, him going off would leave Maloney more exposed than normal, if he's been pummelled in defence it would show in his attack. I hope that's the case anyway, with Guerra out with a busted jaw.

I'm pretty sure he defends on the same side as Cordner.

Jennings should get cited for his high shot, if he has carry over points we may not need to worry about him either. Cronulla seemed to function a lot better today with Bird at 5/8, I really wonder what they will do with Barba??

Fairly simple plan for us next week, do not let their forwards get a roll on, pressure and be in the face of Maloney and Pearce all night and do not let RTS run.

I saw Lockyer on the Sunday footy show and he said Hodges told him he would not be there until round 7

With Hodges, you take the time they say he will be out and multiply that by 2. You will find out how long he will actually be out for.
