POST GAME Round 7 - Broncos vs Titans

He's already frail and injury prone, in the centres Id be concerned this would be amplified. What we have to lose in turn is our only capable goal kicker
Yes he may be injury prone but he is our best option atm. There is no guarantee he will get injured same as there is no guarantee he won't. We have to do something, current set up is just not working. Not hating on Moga either but he is a liability at the moment.

1. Boyd - He was actually not that consistent. Some bad stuff but some real moments where he lifted the team. I did not like seeing him give up on the Don try. 6
2. Oates - Unusually quiet tonight, some good runs but not to his usual level. He got caught out of position in the Don try. 5
3. Roberts - Was that Renouf? Yes that stupid pass but other than that, everything was just outstanding. That pass is the only thing that stops him getting a ten. 9.5
4. Moga - Look, he has just gone backwards all season and after last week's horror, just not good enough. 3
5. Kahu - Shocking, worst game I've seen from him. Lucky he is a gun goal kicker cos in general play, he is just so slow, Moga level slow. 1
6. Milford - I thought tried his backside off tonight, he is definitely improving. His first drop I blame the pass, the second was just inexcusable. The saving grace is that he was good without being excellent, really feel the big game is coming. Watch this space. 7
7. KNik - I'm a fan and have been quite vocal about that and while he wasn't spectacular, he just looks so calm and composed out there, EXACTLY what we need in a half. His defense was mostly really good. I reckon in five weeks time, we'll mostly all agree he is worth going into next season with. 7
16. Ese'ese - He has been our best prop all year, comfortably. He is a gun, we need to extend him asap. 8
9. McCullough - He was great in defense as always but his attack took a huge step backward. Given how well he has gone this season, I'm willing to forgive him that. His decision making in the red zone just needs to keep improving which until tonight, it has been. 6
10. Blair - Weird game from him but then, it was a weird game from everyone. Just better than average. 6
14. Glenn - I hope he has inked that contract for his sake because he is making a habit of bombing tries and coming up with some stupid plays. 3
12. Gillett - What a game again! If not for Roberts going to another level and getting the hat-trick, he would have been easily the best on the ground. That charge down just capped it off! 9.5
13. McGuire - He was great...for a prop. He just doesn't look to offload and is taking the ball on tackle four too often. He plays like a prop, put him there. 7

8. Sims - He was good when he came on but clearly outshone by Wallace if this was an origin place shoot out. Wallace was phenomenal, Sims was good. 6.5
11. Thaiday - I thought he was good when he came on and a definite step up on Glenn who was just terrible. 6.5
16. TPJ - Came on, broke a finger, went off. He sounds like he is gone for a while which sucks. Given he was on for like one minute, his score is pretty irrelevant. 1
17. Mead - He was bought on late thankfully for Kahu and in the short time he was on, pulled off the vital final defensive play. He HAS to be in the team. The question is, what do you do with Kahu? Moga has to go but can Kahu handle centre? Question marks on that, question marks not on Mead needing to be in the team. 6.5

Did Milford take 1:20 to take that last conversion?

I thought the ref stopped the clock far too early.

I still reckon our halves play is way off.

1. Milf and Kodi / Hunt need to run direct, straight at the line a whole lot more, with real mojo and pass just before . Watch Foran and how well he does it and the results he gets;

2. They both need to play on the same side, and work off each other a whole lot more. Milf and Kodi together have the speed to burn any defensive line. Some inside-outside plays like '15. Ahhh

Based on tonight, Nikorima is not the half we need if we don't want another running halfback.

So many times he ran when he should have passed out the back.

Wayne just said in the press conference Kahu is playing with a groin strain, one he had approximately a momth ago and it worsened tonight, which is why he took him off and gave Mead a chance.

Obviously it was affecting him significantly. Shouldn't have been out there at all by the look of him...

Was that his first full NRL game at halfback? If not it was close to it... More than happy with his performance given his inexperience in the role.

Give him, I don't know, about six weeks to prove himself?

I thought Nikorima went alright. It doesn't look like he's too much different to Milford, definitely more of a runner. He had some quality touches though, with a try and almost a try assist.

Sharks got away with playing two similar players last year...though of course they had Ennis making up for it in attack too. McCullough isn't really capable of that.

Kahu can't play centre he gets hurt too easily.

Moga bombing that try really pissed me off and he really needs to get his shit right.

Gillett take a bow great game and won us the game.

TBH this is the first game Boyd really stood up and asserted himself. Boyd is my MoM and hope he keeps it up.

Roberts tonight was unbelievable sure he made some stupid errors but that was to keep attacking every time he was near the ball. Roberts scored tries tonight that most centres in the nrl wouldn't so sign him up and keep giving him ball.

He did play at 7 in the WCC and handled himself really well. It was against a much weaker opponent sure, but for a first NRL game I wasn't totally disappointed.
