Maybe your sentence had ended. Careful, that means you are on paroleThe @TheGreatCornholio7 takes me off ignore so he can dislike 8 or 10 of my posts. Stay classy champ. You probably should report me, again.
I think it means a lot to a team member, I don’t think they’re token things to do at all.2 instances really concerned me:
No.1 - When Coates dropped the ball off the kick off he looked distraught, there were no team mates rushing in to console him. I know it’s a token gesture and doesn’t really mean anything, but you’ve got to keep up appearances to look like a team, not one that is already resigned to defeat after 7 seconds.
No.2 - When Dearden dropped the ball and was ‘rag-dolled’ by RCG no forwards were rushing in and starting a melee, like, “don’t you do that to our halfback!’
They may mean nothing, but those sorts of things you see the ‘good’ sides do.
They very much struggle at isolating defenders 1v1.
I wonder why teams have suddenly decided that a hitup on the post and then spreading it to the opposite edge is the way to go inside the 20m?
I would've thought the way to go would be getting it wider than that ... get your second rower 1v1 on their half, get your half on the outside of the second rower, get your center 1v1 on his opposite... have them work for a quick ptb and then do a long spread back to the opposite edge.
I thought the general consensus was that the longer the open side of the field is the harder it is to defend, as the defence has more field to cover... and therefore more opportunity someone will have a little bit of space somewhere along the line.
Based on that I would've thought in general that the game plan should be getting the ball to whoever is the best at getting a quick ptb and then working off the back of that... Souths do it with Murray, Storm with BSmith, Eels were getting it tonight with Papa and Kaufusi, etc.
The storm forwards are aware of how important a quick ptb is that it's basically the only thing they work towards, and the players come around and support the play the ball just as much as the try scorer.
For us the goal could be getting TPJ 1v1 on the half and then working from there. Through the middle we could look to get off the back of Haas... he finds his way between defenders, but he doesn't necessarily find his way onto his front and the value of a quick ptb.
Tonight Lodge threw a dummy, got between 2 defenders and then threw an offload to the eels player.... he was in prime position to find his front, create a quick ptb and let the team run off the back of it... he had two defenders tackle him low and was about 25-30m out, but instead of taking the tackle and providing a quick ptb he threw an offload.
It seems a lack of awareness across the squad.
It just doesn't seem like the team know what their fundamentals should be in attack... how are we going to score points and how do we get ourselves in the positions required to score points.
I was happy to see TPJ score off a DH play... It wasn't the best play, but it got him 1v1 and he easily got the try. We need some easy tries, we need some variety in our attack and different ways to score to take pressure off the halves and reduce our reliance on block plays to score (which don't seem to work for us anymore anyway).
He also threw the jersey onto the chair lol not sure what was said
A lot has been said about our edge defence and the poor defence of our halves. I put it back onto the middle. They just don't work hard enough to push across and work from the middle. So many times they are clocking off once the ball has gone past them, so the halves and outside backs have to turn in.
Our edge defence definately needs work, but they get **** all help from the middle.
That’s where Glenn usually comes in after a knock on to say one set2 instances really concerned me:

I hope DD is as good as he seems because it will take a lot of smart work at the top to get us out of this.shame to see the best years of young players like Haas being wasted at this club.
Meanwhile, Fifita proving the most destructive forward in the comp....unsurprisingly away from this shitshow...
We really are the new Newcastle when they were shit.....remember how many spoons they won in a row....
Trying to retain "our" guys when "our" guys arent good enough is counterproductive...
Should be the other way round....."our" guys can go and be replaced by proper NRL professionals...
Coates can go. Way too much of a liability in defence. Block has rocks for brains.I hope DD is as good as he seems because it will take a lot of smart work at the top to get us out of this.
We need at least one, preferably two experienced, quality spine players ASAP. All money needs to go towards that before any other position or keeping “our guys”.
With the guys we have already signed we have enough to be good without anyone else as long as we get quality in the spine. Tough decisions need to be made which won’t be popular but they need to happen. It will probably mean saying goodbye to a Staggs or a Coates but it needs to happen and if it is done right and shown that it is best for the team and the player potentially you get them back in a few years when we are good again.
Just on no. 1. Two players did come in and encourage him, I think it was Lodge in the first place, not sure the other.2 instances really concerned me:
