Round 7 - Eels vs Broncos

Why do you try to be such a knobhead, it seems to come naturally to you. It seems you lack the intelligence to understand what I wrote. I never said Kennedy was an answer to anything. Fortunately KW does seem to understand some things and he wasn't blaming the halves for the poor handling and missed tackles. He did say they came up with a few errors but it wasn't Croft who lost us the game. None of this will register in your peabrain though.

That's the second person you've got personal with tonight Huge. You lucky I'm not a mod cause I would be slapping your ass with a fat warning.

That mistake from Levi proved really costly. Brisbane were behind the 8-ball all game but had they taken the lead then and there it changes the complexion of the game entirely. Somehow he came up with the absolute worst play and moments later the Eels score and they get their tails up during that period right before half-time.

There was just nothing at all to write home about in the second half. There were a couple of efforts from players but the team had their heads down and it was just too tough. That 18 point lead also brought Cartwright into the game and he's always going to shine in that sort of situation.

The only player I can really give a pass to tonight is Payne Haas. Even Pangai Jr I thought was very lazy in defence and his options at times were very selfish. He's a senior player, trying to barge over from dummy half on two separate occasions is just silly and he just isn't making enough of an impact with the ball. I'd put him in a similar boat as Oates and Carrigan who weren't awful but I'd still expect better.

No real luck tonight for the Broncos either. My favourite was Sivo hitting a standing front dropkick on Farnworth and drawing a penalty. Meanwhile Cartwright pinballs off Coates and takes the legs of Isaako but it's ruled a knock on.

Probably our worst performance of the year from my view.

Coming off last weeks game we should have been brimming with confidence and had so much to pay for to prove it wasn't a once off performance. They absolutely let themsleves down tonight.

Incomplete sets, turning the ball over in our own half, poor discipline, inability to stop offloads and no real bite in attack. Appart from Hass and TPJ in attack and a few good tackles from Riki we don't take any positives out of tonight.

Moving forward the worrying part is we've already simplified our game as much as possible and even that we can't get right. These guys just need their asses kicked week in week out at training and made to do things until they're done to perfection. There's no easy way out of this, there's no saviour coming back from injury there's no star recruit coming into the squad.

I'm really really deflated right now. If nothing else we're getting a good indication of who to keep and who to let walk i.e Dearden.

I think we all agree Hodgo and Parker should be on staff even just for specialist coaching. pangai’s efforts last few weeks remind me of Hodgo in 2013 “we can’t score as a team so I’ll do it myself”

Quickest way to get results: Bennett as coaching director.

No your “insight” is far too advanced for the likes of me...

I’ll just await the next pearler from you... Maybe instead of slowing the play the ball down, we could try dropping even more ball? Or kick it dead more often?

That sort of idiocy, along with vehemently supporting absolute spuds, seems to appeal to you for some reason...

I'd take Bellamy as well, these guys sometimes need to be yelled at every 5 or so minutes.

2 times we've hit the panic button and sacked Bennett and 2 from 2 it has blown up in our faces. I hope he takes up a gig at Brisbane 2 and ***** us for a decade because we deserve it.

Bellamy would be ideal but can’t see him leaving Melbourne....again.

The right side:

pangai: impact forward who should spend time in the middle and on the edge during a game, not 80 on the edge it is too easy to work him over

Croft: always has had issues with defence

Farnworth: rookie, inexperienced in both position and game awareness, he shouldn’t be playing centre

coates: inexperienced and doesn’t trust his inside men

They can’t run out with this edge next weekend against Fifita
Croft has issues with defence, huh? 🙄 Pretty sure he was over 90% last year. Way better than Dearden and light years ahead of Milford. I don't actually think anyone was better in our team.

Just too many unforced errors killed us. Nearly every Eels try was after one of our errors. I don't think Isaako has what it takes to be a fullback. He's sus under the high ball and this short drop out thing just isn't working nor is he good at them. Possibly Xavier Coates worst game and hopefully he will improve drastically from here.

I’m not saying he’s worse than the other halves just stating he does have a reputation as being particularly liable in defence, even in the Melbourne system

So long as the Doggies stay consistent we are safe.
But make no mistake, its between them and us.
Dogs draw is almost as fucked as ours

Canberra (suncorp magic round) (top 8 contender)

Manly away (brookie sunday afternoon)
Tigers away (sunday afternoon)

They may pick up a couple wins, but there aren't many where they will come in favourites or really a chance.

Last year they picked up a couple wins due to their attitude, but that may have been the attitude for their coach. Will they have that for Barrett??

Also interesting that we don't get an opportunity to play them again 🙄 🙄

I don't think we need any new players but we do need to work on some of ours. It's dumb leaving a prop unused until the 61 st minute. We should work with our strength. Start Lodge and Kennedy, use him up earlier. He runs hard and straight.

I don't blame Croft or Dearden but out wide we need polish.

Dude seriously just STFU.
