Here is a crazy concept.... Put whoever is playing best in the 5/8 in the lower division in for a run and leave everyone else in their best position. I know..... kind of daring and crazy.

I don't think Glenn or Gillett will be used purely because we are short in the 2nd row already with thaiday out and they wouldn't want Oates starting just yet.
Only choices I see is
1. Kahu's timely return
2. Duncan P
3. Nikorimas k or j who knows
4. Strasser
5. Don't laugh it's happened before....stagg
6.barba up hodges back maranta comes in and Copley moves one in
I am ok with the first 2 and the 3rd is what we all hope.
Last three worry me

And got to take into account if Hoffman is out for only one week, if longer than a stop gap seems silly

Stagg is currently injured (according to White on his web chat yesterday).

I've been wanting Hodges at the back ever since he was moved in early 2007. If he goes back there I reckon he'll handle it more than well enough. If the injury only looks to be a one-weeker a resuffle of the team I'm more than happy with. However, if it's a 4 weeker or longer you'd like to see one of the younger players given a chance.

Maybe we could do something similar to what Hoffman and Hodges did at the end of last year.
Maranta defending at fullback, as he is good defensively and under the high ball; Hodges attacking at fullback, allowing him to inject himself into the attack when he sees an opportunity

Was hoping it didn't come to stagg or lowrie plus stagg has been very average in qld cup even if he wasnt injured
Forgot j nikorima was only 17 well let's hope Duncan p or kahu. hodges at fullback isn't a concern for me either he's good enough. Just don't want Hoffman coming back a fullback much prefer barba at the back

in reality it means as much as the original journo's presumption that barba would go to six. i havent actually seen anything from the broncos to confirm what they are doing. theres still a chance hoffman will be fine pending the scans.

playing wing is a bit different to playing in the halves. especially halves at the Broncos after a poor season the year before with the pressure that comes with.
besides, their young kids may be further along in their development than our kids.

Give Strasser a run imo, I'd rather not move Barba out of position just when he's starting to get some confidence and form, zz.

If Maranta comes into the side, that would mean they will likely play Barba at 5/8.
If Strasser comes in i hope he kills it to keep Hoff out of the 6 jumper.

maybe yes, maybe no. macca hunt and barba have been doing a pretty good job. hoffman hasnt exactly set the world on fire from 6 and whoever comes in wouldnt have hte world expected of them.
lot of pressure for a winger under high balls and defusing kicks for a rookie infront of 45k away from home. you drop your first one and it can easily become a torrid debut.
its a bold move by maguire where we too often try and take a 'safe' move.

Have you seen our wingers? Merritt is a shocking defender who, even if he doesn't stuff up positionally, would just get steamrolled anyway. Not surprised TBH.
