Oh, it looks like I haven't understood what a try assist is if only the last pass counts. I remember Coynes incredible try in Origin and the passes and contributions involved and if only the last pass counts then try assists really don't mean squat! Try assists are almost an arbitrary stat these days. You'll find a player doing all of the work leading up to a try, creating the overlap, engaging the defense, etc.. And they'll give it to the Fullback sweeping around the back and doing nothing except making a regulation pass. It's kinda shit.

I would like to see Croft develop some variation with his long kicking. I'm an AFL coach and can see that he has a beautiful drop punt ( unusual for a leaugie) , We coach the drop punt as it's easier for your teamates to catch. not really what he's after.

I understand your point but if anything it's paix's wide pass that gives them the overlap , so by your theory the assist should go to paix. Was a great pass.

I thought they all played a role and yes, Paix pass was excellent. I thought they all should have a try assist as that's exactly what they did.

**** yes. I know folk think we are a long way off but that's not my view. The line between success and failure is not too distant. Belief and comradeship can grow. Some want to devalue the win and yes, it wasn't the Roosters or Melbourne or Parra but if we put on our best performance no one will say, NOT POSSIBLE, they couldn't have just beaten the Roosters or whomever from the top four. It's not ridiculous to assert that the current Broncos can beat anyone on any given day. We just aren't that far away and closer than some doom and gloomers say.

Paix is coming along quite nicely. I like the look of him. If his confidence keeps growing, I think he'll be a very handy player
