[Rumour] The Hunt for Karmichael's return to Broncos.

Reed for Hunt. Seems like a good trade.

Or Hoffman for Hunt.

I would have no problem with Broncos getting rid of either of those.

Put Hunt at centre, pluck some islander winger to put outside of him and we're pretty much golden.

Almost all our backs apart from Reed usually provide good value and perform. I would take a lot of convincing for me to release Vidot, Hoffman, Hunt and Copley as they play well for us most of the time. Even without Reed we still field a backline that is capable of putting up points and contain the X-Factor to pull something out of nowhere.

I heard on the AFL footy show last night that Karmichael Hunt is "almost a certainty" of returning to League.

i still really hope we dont end up with k hunt. i mean yes he was a good player back in the day but the game has sped up considerably and it will take him at least 2 season to problably really find his grove again. and then hes what 30?. i biggest fear is what we are paying for him. and i really wouldnt like to see us loose ben hunt or another young player because of it. only way i could be happy with khunt singing is if the milf doesnt end up coming

How many seasons did both K.hunt and izzy play in afl? Everyone keeps saying that he will struggle to keep up if he returned to league. If you look at izzy he has really stepped his game up since returning from afl (Twice the player he was when he left, mind you that he is playing an inferior game). Benefit or Hindrance? I'm inclined to lean towards the "he's going to make it" followers!

Hunt played in the VFL in 2010, and then AFL from 2011 onwards.

Izzy played in the NEAFL in 2011 and played AFL in 2012 before moving to Union.

I really don't think it would be difficult for them to adjust to League. It's not like they have been sitting on their asses for the past 4 years..

Yeah but I think with Izzy, he was only gone for two years. Hunt has been gone for 4 years now. It took Izzy a bit of time to get back to his form in union but I feel with Hunt especially being undersized to what he was in league, will take atleast a year to get back to his natural playing weight.

With the way the game has sped up I think a bit less weight and the agility he has gained from the AFL would be advantageous

Well if khunt signs are we all happy if he replaces ben hunt? cause thats only thing i can see happening. no way he will take milf or barbas spot. i seen suggestions for centre but i really dont see that happening its a position hes never played in and from first glance not one u could say he would excell at. not that he couldnt

He has played centre and with the skill set he had I would be picking him at centre way before in the halves. He runs the ball strong, breaks tackles and can throw an ok pass... what about that suggests to you he can't play centre?

i didnt say he def couldnt. but its not a position he has ever played in even though im sure he has the work ethic to train hard and get good at it. but its odd that we are signing him just to play centre when really its not a possition we need to fill. it just doesnt make much sence to me. and lets face it theres no way were gettin him for cheap. rumours around was that titans were chasing him to and they woulda offered him a bit of coin. but now theres stronger rumours that hes a near certainty for broncos

i got a feeling were getting him to play in the halves. and if that happens im not sure id be to pleased to see him take ben hunts spot. either that or broncos have been told that milf is leaning towards staying in canbera. and if that does happen then id be more then happy for khunt to fill milfs spot

of course these are all just rumours and we can only speculate. so we just gotta wait and see what happens but as of now with what we know i wouldnt be keen if we signed him and it would just throw up more questions then answer imo

I don't know if you guys have ever played AFL but he is going to come back faster and more fit than ever. I thought I was fit when I had a go in high school and it nearly killed me haha.

oh definitely fitness is no wear near a concern. its the skill set and reading play centre is no easy position to defend doenst matter how fit u are thats my concern if we put him in on centre when he has never had experiance there before but out of all the options id prefer centre then putting him in and replacing ben. but tbh personally i hope we dont sign him at all unless hes coming extremely cheap and no way that is happening

i could only see hime either replacing barba or reed with a long term outlook of replacing hodges. nothing else makes sense.

I actually think before he played for the Broncos he was predominantly a centre. His debut seems like forever ago when you think about it

I have to disagree with Locky regarding the NRL bankrolling his return. Why reward a code hopper? Hunt could've ended up being the greatest Bronco of all time (possibly eclipsing Lockyer, Langer etc). He chose to go in a different direction. The club has done the same. Barba and Milford are better players anyway. Let's stick with them.

so much this.

not even confident he would be competent any more.

I can't believe Barba has been at the Broncos for 5 games and people are already talking about replacing him with K.Hunt.. It's obvious he's playing injured / without confidence, he'll be a top-tier Fullback by seasons end, and even better next year when he has a decent half or two.
