The dynamics of the team sucks, why would we wanna keep this going? Yes I think the players have gone way too long where mediocrity is rewarded with safe and secure positions.

It's definitely time to stop this boring uninspired football and try something new. If we are gonna lose more games than we win, well lets do it chancing our arm a bit, if that means we start picking players based on form and or youth over names, then heck it couldn't be any worse.

Dexter, I don't know where fans get the impression from that the players think they are safe, or that they do not get a rocket from Hook behind closed doors. Unless any of us fans are in the dressing rooms/training paddock, how would we know what is being said/done?

Look, no disrespect, but we need to leave this in the hands of those who have the experience and determination to resolve our current problems. Unless I am mistaken, none of us here on the forum are really qualified to do that.

The evidence of this is in the fact that nothing is changing...neither performance or players getting sent back to Qcup. They can keep dishing out crap boring football and keep making the team, I don't need to be in the dressing sheds to see this.

No no no! This is the kind of knee-jerk reaction clubs such as Parramatta are famous for. Not us! Who says the club is not doing any planning?! You can take this as fact - the club IS planning for the future. We have the nucleus, I believe, of a very formidable lineup. I firmly believe we are short maybe of 1, possibly 2 key positional signings only. We do not need a 'marquee' signing - we already have several strike/marquee players (Hodges, Hoffman, Hannatt, Parker to name 4). What we need is a couple of second-tier, depth players, particularly in the front row, where we can build on what we already have.

What evidence do you have of any planning? Nothing they have done in the last 4 years suggests that Brisbane do any planning.

Wow, team morale. Oh now, don't sack anyone, they'll feel bad. Lord help us. The current players are playing like crap and have donw for more than a year now. They need to feel a bit average about whats going on and they need feel like their spot is going to get taken away if they don't sharpen up. At the moment none of the players is under theat because Hook won't sack blokes for non-performance (otherwise what is Reed doing in the side and why do we keep picking Maranta).

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Brisbane don't need some signings, they need about 5. They need a big prop, they need a second rower who can make 100 m a game through the ruck (we don't need more edge running forwards), they need at least 1 if not 2 top tier halves, they need a centre and a fullback. I

f those people aren't available now, then start targeting them by ensuring you have a heap of space under the cap when they become available. Personally, I'd let Hunt, Reed, Thaiday, Dodds, Wallace, Maranta and Anderson go right now just so I can have a huge play at Smith for 2015 and DCE when he becomes available. In the interim I'd target Locke from the Warriors and maybe TLL and Milford from the Raiders.

The current team will not make the 8 this year and I don't they'll make it next year either (unless we sign some people).

Thanks very much broncos4life. No probs though, I guess it just shows how passionate some fans/members here are about the team. It's fantastic that we have a resource as great as broncoshq where we can all offer various opinions and thoughts. Some peeps are just a little more passionate/outspoken than others though it seems hehe.

Looking forward to reading further postings/insights from you and the rest of the lads.

The problem is, if we have done oh so few, then they're probably mistakes and not intended. The fact we do not do these consistently enough show little variety in our attack, and subsequently, little difficulty for the opposition in shutting us down.

Posters can either counter with their own opinions or they can ignore him, but leave the moderation to the moderators.

Just one more thing in relation to PM's. They are no different to other posts at BHQ, in the sense they have to abide by the same rules, and are reportable in the same way.
Personally, I find it utterly cowardly to use that to insult someone, and although any decision is taken by the admin team as a whole, I'll certainly push to double any punishment we would otherwise dish out for a public post.

Yeah that's all fair enough, I too would think it would be a pretty shitty look for our forums if we were to abuse new members, but man, something about that poster is not right. Have the mods an IP lookup tool to see if another user also has the same ip as FiH?

He could be just a really positive, ardent, nailed on fan with blind optimism, but it seems to me the more disgruntled people get, the more flowery his posts get - which to me is just someone purposely goading others but with brilliant superfanism rather than anger or rage...

Look, I have had a variety of messages sent to me by several members of this forum to my personal inbox over the past 12 hours or so. Some of these messages have been superbly constructed critiques of the performance last nite, whilst some of the other messages have, unfortunately, been personal and insulting attacks ON me. But that's ok, I have a THICK skin.

Now, thanks to members such as BigPete and several others, I have decided to offer a few thoughts. AGAINST my better judgement may I add. I believe it IS always best to let the dust settle IN these types of situations. I know for a fact many of us are still hurting from last nites result and it IS only to easy to say/write things WE dont necessarily mean in thd heat of the moment.

Yes, last nites performance was disappointing in several respects - not least of all our poor start to the gamd. BUT, as Hook mentioned in thr presser, if not for a soft try IN a crucial period, there is no doubt we WERE finishing with a wet sail. Not saying we would have won, BUT the signs were there I believe that there is still self belief amongst the lads in terms of the possibilities still achievable in 2013.

Guys, there IS no doubting the past 5 or 6 weeks have been short of the mark in so far as what WE expect as fans, AND what IS expected from the lads by the coaching staff. In times OF adversity however it is then that we all see what we are really made of. I DO believe we are not yet ready to lay down and surrender. As my online 'handle' suggests, now is THE time to not only have faith in the lads, BUT also the coaching staff and organisation as a whole.

This team is too damn pround to give up and it is NOW when we all need to pull together and support the lads and Hook like we almost certainly have never done so before.

In actual fact, I find FiH rather Orwellian, insidious, dangerous in her (or its) vacuity, a large black void filled with polite platitudes to hide the fact that beneath that, there is a big black nothing ... just like our game plan and recruitment policy
