Season tickets 2009

Or maybe I was drunk.

There's a likely scenario

But actually it probably was the case - Bruno wasn't trying to drive the fans away back then. I think those were the days when there was entertainment other than the main game as well.

I see they have membership packages for people in sydney for $80

I love the club but I'm disillusioned by this. It comes across as nothing more than a money grab. I sit 8 rows behind the BHQ crew so it means my tickets are also upgrading to maroon. They're great seats and I've seen some great action this season but I don't know if I can justify paying the increase. I might not just on principle.

How is the seating structure on the western side any different? I look at the below map which is current for this season and it looks identical to the map proposed in the online brochure for next season?

If you click the above link and go to page 9 it's completely identical!!

I'll be having a word to the members around me on friday night and getting their thoughts. I'm sure we're not the only ones who are spewing about this. It's bad enough sitting at the library every week but if the club wants to alienate the passionate supporters who turn up without fail and actually create the atmosphere - well they're going to have a stack of empty's there next season...

Sounds like an online petition might be the go Steve as a starting point at least

Don't even give them the satisfaction. I stopped going to Broncos games after a short while after they moved to Suncorp Stadium because of similar issues. You're all worth more than incessant commercialism and being constantly under the power of money hungry associations. Passion for your team aside, the atmosphere is sterile and befitting of a library at best. I'd seriously question if the experience and spectacle you're receiving is worth your time and money.

Hold up - we gets seat cushions!!!!!!!! _woohoo_ [icon_lol1.

Russo; I think an online petition is definetly in order. Further mor, we should post this over at RL U a wewll. I wouldn't be surprised if many people are pissed off at this massive increase. For Flutteby's tickts to increase from $300 to $395 is just....amazing.

Same here.

I was so angry about the huge increase from ANZ to Suncorp I called 4BC & vented.

What I didn't know was Bruno Cullen was listening & a few minutes later he called me at home.

That's when the fun started, he kept on saying I was comparing Apples with Oranges. ( he said that about 20 times)

I told him to quit talking about fruit & if I wanted to talk about fruit & veggies I would talke to a greengrocer.

I told him there wasn't enough leg room etc, but he didn't care, he just want our money.

He got that for the 1st year & then the prices went up again.

Only got these season tickets as they were a Christmas gift, I won't be renewing.

We, my father and I (and 2 friends) have had 2 seats (4 seats total) since 1995 at both stadiums. We got shafted the season after moving back to Suncorp to the Western Stand. No consultation, they sold our seats to platinum or something paying customers.

So 2 years ago, I gave up ... mainly due to the ever rising cost and my lack of desire to attend a lot of the games anyway ... saturday nights, monday nights and crap Sunday games ... add various other factors ie smoking, crap expensive food, expensive drinks, rubbish pre-game entertainment, continual frustration at the huge gap between curtain raiser and main game ... to name a few

The old man took over our 2 tickets so he wouldn't lose our good seats ... we in about row 18 or 20 on the 40m line, Western Stand - Milton road side of half way. He still offers me a ticket whenever I want it but I feel guilty toward him, not to the Broncos. I just couldn't do it any more at those prices and under those conditions.

*** Are the Broncos taking advantage of my father ? He enjoys a day at the footy with one of his kids, is basically retired and hamstrung at the thought of losing his good seats ... he also travels quite a deal and would miss on average 4 games a year ... yet keeps renewing *** I think so !

It seems like they may lose a few more long term customers (we aren't fans to them, we are customers) and they just don't care and haven't done since leaving ANZ.

I empathise with your situation Russo, been there ... if you don't jump this year, you'll jump eventually ... and they just don't care

Oink !

Yeh mate they are the gold seats. Top price - $460 next year. You actually can't get a gold seat unless you are a renewing member because pretty much the whole area is taken up by season members, VIP's and sponsors.

I thought that was just for Platinum? At least it was last year.

I actually had Platinum tickets in my first year (2007).

Steve, I don't think any of the categories have changed in the Western Stand, only in the Eastern Stand, basically so the categories 'mirror' each other (ie the seats directly opposite are now the same category), even though as Russo said, I think the Eastern Stand seats aren't the same due to the fact that they are out in the weather more than the Western Stand.

One possible solution would be to allow Renewing Members to still get their seats at the "Blue" rate if they take the same seat, but any new people or renewing members changing seats need to pay the "Maroon" rate - this lets people keep their same seat which they obviously enjoy. I mean 13 years in the same seats - they shouldn't have to move because of a money grab.

BTW, I emailed the contents of this thread to the Broncos, just so it's brought to their attention how much people are angry about this.

Good one Coxy, though I doubt they will care (even if they bother to read it)

Perhaps the price to pay to have a successful club/business?

(easy for me to say, I can't even afford to go to more than 2 games a year  )

They won't continue to be successful financially if they keep treating the fans like crap - especially the really loyal ones.

And you don't get bang for buck. Yeah you get to watch every game, free public transport etc, but the cost of everything in the stadium is high, and there's not many additional incentives to go. Crap entertainment. You get bugger all merchandise benefits (a hat and 10% off merchandise at the leagues club which is already 15% more than A Mart All Sports anyway).

4 or 5 games a year are pathetic.

And then the games you do get excited the players wander off with a cursory wave at the crowd.

And security are the fun police. No atmosphere, no yelling, no standing up and cheering etc, because if someone complains you can be asked to leave. Anti-social behaviour.

All that and they're asking some fans to fork out 52% more to retain their seat in 2009? A joke.

Exactly right. Sucessful business come from keeping your customers happy and felt looked after. The rewards they would get from loyal repeat customers/fans is worth it in the long term.
