I knew their was something fishy going on up their with all those marquee players and my hunch was right. CHEATS!!!!

Now the question is: Should we be concerned- the likes of izzy, Lockyer, Hodges and kempy just to name a few worries me a little. Don't jump on my back or anything because i'm not saying we are, i'm just putting the idea forward to think about.

they MAY not have been there........but they may have still been there. and even then, they WERE there and they DID win the premiership. the NRL has no right to take 4 years of work away from players that so far appear to be the BIGGEST losers in this whole thing.

another thing that makes the punishment way too severe is that out of the $1.7 million they were over the cap, $700k of that is THIS YEAR, and $400k is LAST YEAR. so that means in the 3 years before that, including where they won a premiership, they were only $600k over the limit. factor in big increases in pay when they win the 2007 premiership, and its more than likely that most of that $600k is in 2008. so realistically, they just lost the 2006 minor premiership and the 2007 premiership for what could be a couple of thousand dollars over the salary cap. its ridiculous.

No, you don't get it. The team they had on the park won the premiership. The team they had on the park was illegal. Therefore the win was illegal. It's just that simple.

And anyone who thinks the players didn't know, is giving them a very big benefit of the doubt

Players wound not have known. Those responsible would have kept this as secret as possible, telling players/managers etc just jeopardizes the whole rort by involving more parties to keep the secret. Players don't know how much each other are on to the extent that they would do the sums and have it add up to more than the cap limit. Plus it would put a burden on the players knowing they are in a position that could lead to this type of penalty. Anyone who seriously thinks the players would have had the slightest clue really hasn't thought this through.

I'm absolutely devastated now thinking what could of been in 2008 and 2009 when we oh so close to going all the way but knocked out by a team who were cheating the salary cap and as such had a huge advantage.

Devastating news for rugby league in general but especially in Melbourne this could also potentially have a big effect on the next TV rights deal.

I hope the Storm survives this.

Dude, they would have been given the "NRL" one first to read or for their managers to read. Then come signing time they sign that one and then they say "now sign this duplicate" they would not have read it as well. Involving the players would only increase the risk of the thing.

Lol are you reading what you are writting. You cant honestly say that they didnt read their contracts before they signed them, thats the first thing they would of done. FYI when a large extra sum of cash gets given to you for no apparant reason alarm bells would be ringing.

Im almost 100% sure that the players who were on the "secret contracts" would of known what was going on. I want the players who cheated to be named and shamed.

They cheated and there is no other way to put it. I am so pissed off rite now and to be kncoked out of the competion the last three years by a team of scum bag cheaters makes me sick to the stomach.
