lol. when salary cap breaches occur in 6 out of 10 years, theyre doing it knowingly. its not an accident.

Now take that last line and look over the Storms record again. The fact 1.7m is from the past 2 seasons just shows they got cocky and pushed their luck.

You are pathetic, how can you even begin to compare the minor Salary Cap breaches the Broncos have made to your beloved Storms $1.7 million dollar rort. Look the punishment sucks for the players but the rules were made and it is cheating not to mention Fraud. You really can't be serious $1.7 Million of rorting is way beyond anything any club has been caught of doing.
$1.1 million of that is from 2009 and 2010 alone. going by that, and the fact that players wouldve had contract upgrades AFTER they won in 2007 and not before, its pretty clear to see that in 2006 when they won the minor premiership and 2007 when they won the premiership they were probably only the same amount over the salary cap as many other teams have been.

but hey, you, jeb, gymp, ningnangnong and rocky were never going to think that they might have been punished unfairly. the fact is the broncos have cheated the salary cap 6 times in the last 9 years, won a premiership in one of the years where they cheated it, yet still have their accomplishments recognised.

oh and if the 'unapproved TPA' payments wouldnt put the team over the salary cap, dont you think they wouldve just gotten them approved? lol. when salary cap breaches occur in 6 out of 10 years, theyre doing it knowingly. its not an accident.[/quote:2ex4ccj8]

And the Broncos were punished accordingly. They breached the cap to the extent that a fine was warranted, and a fine was handed out. Case closed, no big deal.

Doubtful the Storm players will be looking forward to playing a game that means something this season [icon_evillaugh

Those normally come from a club thinking the payment fits under the rules and Schubert and co. disagreeing. Hardly the systematic rorting we've seen emerge from the Storm today.

And it seems those indescretions were picked up pretty much straight away in the audit at the end of every year. Bit different to the Storm where all the documents surrounding the rort were hidden away from investigators at the CEOs house [icon_wink

Yeah, the Storm's system is highly structured and planned. It's all been systematically figured out, bloody disgraceful.

i can't believe that the sharks have escaped a wooden spoon 2 years in a row now. WTF!?

Didn't Matt Geyer end his career with one of these GFs? Poor bugger.

AP, you cannot compare the Broncos breaches to the Storm's rorts.

Unapproved TPAs and minor breaches (most likely due to injuries) cannot be compared to the deliberatly deceptive conduct of the Storm.

There is ONE undisclosed payment of 50k in 2001. ONE.

Several things come to mind after all this:

How will the Storm play with nothing to play for?

The tax man will now audit all the players severely for the undisclosed amounts

Criminal charges should come following an investigation as numerous stat decs were signed

I hope the Storm fans rally to be honest.

Come out, cheer their team on and tell the media to shove this death BS up their ass.

I agree, giving up on the club is wrong it is the administration that has Farked everything up. I expect AP and QUEENSLANDER to fly down to Melbourne for the game on Sunday!

The cynic in my head has a few nasty little thoughts. News Ltd owns the game and owns the Storm. The Storm is a project that they have invested a lot of money in trying to ensure success, obviously to grow the game in Melbourne and I guess to eventually see the club turn a profit. The best way to try to gain success in this game is to win premierships. Everyone says that the Storm club loses money. So how can News Ltd extract themselves from this bad venture without suffering the bad PR of just walking away?

I mean, a company like News Ltd doesn't fk around. The cynic in me says they knew a lot more about this than they are claiming.

Saved me the trouble Fozz. Also Broncos were not syphoning off money from corporate boxes and disguising it as match day payments.

I agree with Pus Gould though, they should have been stripped of accumulated points so far and fined but then allowed to compete for premiership points from here on providing they find a way to get back within the cap for the rest of the year.

We have the rediculous situation where a team is now playing for no reason, also the teams that lost to the Storm cannot get those points. I am assuming that any side playing the Storm will get 2 points or will they get no points if they lose?

everyone join the "Brian Waldron you are a disgrace" FB page

PS - I take back every good thing I have ever said or thought about that man, I sure got that one wrong

If you lose to the Storm, then you will receive no points.

Anything other than that would be silly IMO.
