Tesi Niu

Broncos fullback Te Maire Martin returned from a rib injury via Wynnum Manly in Queensland Cup and showed exactly why he’s set to be recalled into the NRL side this week. Martin scored a try, set up another, got two linebreaks, two linebreak assist and ran for 155 metres, although he did miss five tackles.
At least one of those 5 he bounced off and finished the tackle with help. But you're failing to see the positive, he was at least there to attempt a tackle. That's the major difference between the two. Meanwhile Tesi is letting bombs from Albert Kelly and Tyrone Roberts hit the deck in a training drill all day.

Are you at training ?
What position is TMM running at ?

If you look at the highlights te Marie was pretty poor in defence, out of position and a general lack of urgency

He wasn't poor he just had seven Dolphins streaming through Wynnum's line. Dolphins scored four tries in 20 minutes.

Viliami Vailea scored one in the corner from the centre of the field- nothing to do with Martin.

Jeremiah Simbiken-a Second rower running over your half from three metres out- Martin arrives and jumps over him not too much he can do there.

Rocco Berry out wide, again not much Martin can do when your centre gets totally beaten metres out.

Adam Pompey- this is the one that he could have done better- gone lower and made the tackle.

Jeremiah Simbiken- could have got to him quicker- he's a second rower running 40 metres down field to score if he'd gone to him and made the tackle further out instead of trying to stop him on the line.

Few judgement things is all I saw. But he was there and attempting to stop them. It could have been a lot worse, he stopped the bleeding.

lol if you watch the actual game he was brilliant in defence. Organising the line with great nuance.

One his “misses” was him perfectly covering an overlap on the line, getting his body in front of a much bigger man and dropping his shoulder into the midsection allowing cover defence to prevent a certain try.

The full replay is on Kayo for anyone who cares to not look like an idiot
I'll have you know I'm a massive fan of te Marie Martin, and would way prefer him to play over niu.

It was my personal opinion that he didn't show a great amount of urgency on a number of Redcliffes tries. The rest of the game doesn't count for much at all, as well clearly Redcliffe won by scoring more tries.

Anyways doesn't change my opinion that Martin should be at fullback this week.

Tesi just avoided five tackles.
