OFFICIAL Tevita Pangai is not our problem anymore

Developing:

At this stage it looks like he's seeing out 2021 and joining the Dogs next year, with Brisbane releasing him from his 2022 contract. If that's the case, the club won't need to subsidize the deal.

Doesn’t sit well with me if it’s true. guys who contributed to our woes and spoon can possibly get a premiership this season... it’s strange.

Should 100% not be allowed but this is the problem when you have a pathetic administration with no foresight or planning running a competition.

Nah, **** him off now, who cares. This season is a write-off anyway, we're cleaning house.

I like it, Big Dick Dave, and Kev and Ben the flower pot men are getting business done as soon as they can, so hopefully we can enjoy a settled off-season, where all the focus will be on training and building some camaraderie within the squad.

The place has been a circus the last few years, let's just knuckle down and come out swinging in 2022.

**** 'em all.

How many players are we subsidising to play for other teams?????

don’t get me wrong I am very very very happy with DD and Ikin and I completely understand and agree with their vision moving forward , but anybody even remotely affiliated or associated with making our recruitment decisions pre-those guys should be sacked immediately, this includes my favourite Bronco of all time Locky

I thought they canned the half year on massive unders stuff following the Gasnier comeback. Different circumstances and I get no one will pay 500k for 7 games, but the point is still valid. Teams shouldn’t be picking up players three-quarters of the way through a season.

Yet another reason to have a full month break over origin to get this kind of stuff sorted. Then everyone knows going forward that if you or the club want out, you have a specific time to do it.

If getting him and Milford off the books saves a few hundred K in cap I guess it's worth it but it's such a rort to sign guys like TPJ for effective 100-200k at the business end of a season.
If it helps them beat the Storm, I'm all for it.

Why don't all the top teams start loaning players from the bottom 4 to end the season.

This decision to let TPJ sign for nothing at the premiership favourites essentially opens this up now. The precedent is set and this competition will just get even worse somehow.

It doesn't matter that it is ok and a win for Penrith, it shouldn't be allowed to happen.

Don't release them/him then it's purely up to the Broncos- players are released all the time and could potentially get a premiership at their new club.
I understand it’s all business etc but going from a spoon side to the top side in the same season doesn’t seem right. Tpj hasn’t put in the work for us or for Penrith to be deserving a shot at a premiership.

it’s just business

Well the whole situation is just weird, TPJ must really be a farktard if the club are so keen to get rid of him, not just from next year but also this year for what seems very little gain.

Yep... keep a couple $100k spare and then go and ask the teams at the bottom if you can have a player or two to finish off the year before they return the following year.

"We need a fullback.... knights are out of contention how about you guys give us Ponga for the finals series and he can head back to you in November??"

Ponga is a guy that wants success, so it could quite easily turn into a comp where players start pushing for short term loans to top 4 teams at the end of the season.

Realistically this is all occurring because the NRL pushed the top 30 finalisation date out from June 30 to August.

There was no real reason to do that outside of allowing this kind of thing to play out

He really seems to be, loves shopping himself around doesn't he. I guess he will just end up at the Roosters for the rest of this year like he always wanted.
