The Ashes 2010-2011

I just cant stand siddle. Surely he wont get a gig in front of magic johnson

Lets hope the Aussies bat first and bat well. If Siddle is opening with Johnson then England will only need to bat once

Magic Johnson? The guy's been bowling nothing but pies for a year or more...

According to Foxsports, Khawaja, Hughes and Smith will also be named.

Probably there so the selectors can save face if they tonk the Poms around in Hobart and the others continue to fail in the Shield. Highly doubt any of them will get a game in Brisbane though.

Just announced on Fox.

Tim Paine should be asking some very serious questions of those selectors, our team is so badly out of form and he was our best in India outside of Watson. He is a better keeper than Haddin and I dare say a better batsman. FFS!

This. Paine is the best keeper in Australia at the moment and he can bat as well. I miss the days where a wicket keeper was picked on his ability to keep wickets over his ability with the bat. I suppose after the Gilchrist era that's the way it is from now on.

Paine is not the best keeper in australia. Hartley is the best by along way imo. Paine would do a superb job in the tests but these selectors are hopeless and haddin is the incumbent so he was always in the team.

Agree on all points.

So do I, selectors sh1t me to tears.

Hussey, Katich, Watson all failing today.

Ferguson and Khawaja likewise on a green top.

North 13 runs away from a North Tonne.

Smith the only one in the squad with a start at the moment.

Dont stress, she will bw right

Shame Khawaja or Ferguson couldn't make runs today. I am happy to see Steve Smith replace either Hussey or North. Watched the last few overs of the Australia A game, Strauss looks like he has a lot of time at the crease he will be the big wicket.

Shahzad looks like England's answer to Sreesanth, lol. Firey little bastard and to his credit bowled very well today, but it's easy to pump your chest on a green top I spose. Got some good swing going.

And I agree Beads, IMO there's absolutely nothing North offers over Smith, apart from perhaps a bit more economy with the ball (though being a Leggie, Smith would more likely take wickets against English batsmen, should he be required bowl).

Huss in a huge hole and really doesn't deserve to be there anymore (hate to say it, always been a fan). Hopefully he can find form again at the right time though, as I suspect he's still zero chance of missing out in Game 1 at this stage.

If Hussey plays it is a joke, he should have been dropped a year ago. If he came back and scored runs in the shield then yeah give him a go but he hasn't, his time is up.
