The Ashes 2010-2011

It's shame, given the selector's love affair with mature age players over the years, that Hodge wasn't given more of a run. Even in hit and giggle he keeps churning out the runs.

Granted he probably played in the wrong era (although I reckon he should have taken Damien Martyn's spot long before he walked away and still should've been our No. 4/5 today), but gee, what a waste. And yet a couple of the old farts that we insist on persisting with haven't been fit to tie Hodgey's shoes over the last few years.

what the f is with this rain, atleast we'll get our money back... what the hell am I going to do for 6 days????

I get the feeling Hodgey did something to piss somebody off in the inner sanctum. He has just been too good to not get a run. Stuart Law and Martin Love were the same though.

Law and Love were from the wrong state which didn't help either, you only have to look how long and how loudly Hayden and Lehmann had to bang on the door to get into the test team. It is crazy how often less talented NSW/VIC players get a rails run into the test team.

That's what happens when the majority of selectors are from NSW/Vic ...

The Aussies are talking too much leading into Thursday. Leads me to think we're in massive strife.

Yep I really think we could get smashed, especially if they play pie chucker Siddle in over Bollinger.

We do need Allan Border back as selector... If they pick Siddle over Bollinger, I am paying a visit to the Gabba on Saturday to find the noobs that are in charge.

Hussy will shine this summer

He's always radiant in the pavilion, where he'll be for most of the season.

Hussey should retire now. Silly turd.

We could do with Allan Border back in the middle order too.

I find there's a lot of similarties between the Australian cricket side's selections dilemna and New South Wales Rugby League's...

Sure they make some dud selections but really there aren't too many players putting their hands up in domestic.

but the ones that are keep being overlooked...

Hughes, Hodge, D.Hussey.

Hughes still has a lot of fundamentals to work on with his batting.

Can Hodge even bat 5-6? I suppose he wouldn't be a bad short-term option but unfortunately I feel the selectors missed the boat on him.

I don't rate David Hussey, at least not over his brother. North it's a bit touch and go for mine.

I think we can all agree though that the response from the last Ashes series from the selectors was pathetic and have compromised our chances for the upcoming series.
