The Ashes 2010-2011

IMO scores like this are too much of a head start for the opposition, no matter how well we bowl. Anything around 200, which even in more bowler-friendly conditions isn't a fantastic score, is still a 100+ run lead in an already low scoring game.

I don't think we can cop anything more than 150 from them, assuming the pitch and conditions don't make a huge turnaround over the coming days.

Anyway, we'll get an idea as to what extent our batsmen's sh*tness was in a minute when the Poms play on this deck.

If I was Ponting, I'd even declare right now. These conditions are absolutely lethal and the dirty Poms wouldn't fare any better than we have.

So far not happening dude, shit better start going south for them soon or we are **** ed!

This better not be another all out for 220 day.

I'd love it if we could just, for once, head into to stumps with a reasonable amount of wickets in hand.

Well it wasnt [eusa_doh

Of course the sun came out just as the Poms were taking guard

Only 30 odd runs from wiping the total off now without loss. Barring a miracle 2nd innings, this game (and the series) is all but over on day 1, just like Adelaide. Sad.

0/148.

The pitch is fine, England just bowled perfectly in the conditions (juicy strip first morning is nothing out of the ordinary) and we are an inconsistent rabble who are, on a rare day, capable of playing exceptional Cricket. Today was just typical.

We are the NZ Warriors of world Cricket.

This is a disaster. Worst performance on boxing day ever. Wtf happened to our bowling attack.

Seriously Hughes should never be picked again, his outright refusal to tighten up his technique was rewarded with another test selection off the back of crap domestic form, WTF.
Hodge should have been included instead of the 4th quick we have proven so far if you can't do it with 3 and Watson you won't do it. What the F*** is Smith doing in the side? Surely he hasn't been picked for his batting. There are 2 suggestions to add to our batting and make no difference at all to what we have tried with the ball.

Our side could look like this or add a spinner if he is actually going to bowl. The selectors should swallow their pride and reinstate Hauritz he is the only realistic option we have like it or not.

Watson
Marsh
Ponting
Clark
Hussey
Hodge
Karwaja/Hauritz
Haddin
Johnson
Hilf/Siddle
Ryan

If that pathetic no-heart Michael Clarke is the next permanent captain of Australia I will stop watching cricket, the guy is a joke and not even close to worthy of captaining the country. I think Ponting sucks as a captain but at least he had the runs on the board, Clarke is the master of pissing his wicket away.

A fucking men!

Though I suspect you're cranky with the roar

Nah not cranky, I have had an axe to grind about Clarke for a long time I think he is massively overrated and players who throw away their wicket should never captain.

Punter is finished imo.... He has lost it. Clarke needs.bb to toughen up. Smith needs to bat at 7 and learn to leave the ball. Our bowlers were.pathetic yesterday we need to hit the right length

Whenever Clarke gets out these days it's mainly his doing. Every time he's been dismissed this series, it's because he played a pathetic shot. It's never mainly due to a good delivery. He and Punter's time looks to be up.

Clarke was the number 1 ranked test match batsman in the world last year... He's 29 and he'll come good. He is the best bat of his generation by so far it's not funny. Name another bat in their mid to late 20s who can hold a candle to him.

He is disliked moreso for the perception the media has painted of him rather than his on field performances.

That is correct

+1 He was in near tears after he got out in the adelaide test.

Shit he even shaved his head and done away with the outlandish haircuts.

On another note when to the players get a chance to pratcice, how many ads do they have to do for the sponsors
