It's turning day one. We'll see how Lyon goes if England bat last. We're going to have to try and eek out a 400+ score to be competitive.
The pitch is doing nothing.

The ball that got smith turned enough, albeit quite slowly. The ball that got Rogers turned sharper than the rest.As it's supposed to, being a drop in wicket and all.
The spinners haven't really done anything spectacular .... moreso stupid shots from our batsman.
Dribbling again. A batsmen gets out cheaply and it's the end of the world.
Sorry king dick, forgot you're the indomitable purveyor of ration and reason who we all must aim to please ...
No really, Steve smith is terrific
Seems like someone has an agenda against Steve Smith. It'll be funny seeing you go nuts if he ends up being the next captain.
It's ok to be plain wrong.
Haha we are beyond fucked if smith is the next captain
Australia lucky to be in a 50/50 position. England blew a few chances to be into the tail
so rather than being an arrogant prick, explain to the class how I'm so wrong about Steve Smith ...

No surprise to see Smith rub people the wrong way on here tbh.
Comes across as that typical Blues selection complete with the typical hair style that seems to define this period of Australian cricket. The one that young Pup, White & Watson all sported which suggested they valued their trip to the hairdressers as much as they did the nets. Which isn't to write it off as a superficial hatred, his first stint reflected what many thought was the degradation of test batting and the current generation's impatience at the crease. Given some of the shots he came up with during that stint, you can hardly blame them for having such a long memory.
In saying that, I believe Smith is one of the bats we've got, which will either be a sad indictment of Australian cricket or a compliment pending on how he performs at home. So far, he hasn't been too outstanding but it's a shame to see fans sharpen their knives at the first available opportunity.
Guess it's just the nature of a forum really. It's an outlet for fans to express their frustration and that's perfectly acceptable and encapsulated in every Match day thread.
However, and I'd like to see this for every future discussion, when you bag out somebody, I'd like to see an alternative presented.
Calling him a future captain was definitely going out on a limb and then some.
Still his performance in the Shield prove that he's one of the best we've got and he's still got time well and truly on his side.
I just think he would be a terrible test captain.
