The Ashes 2013/14

I find the English fans to be more arrogant then the Australlian fans but every sports team in the world has absolute knobs that go for them.

I'm not a big fan of cricket, but I've been taking more of an interest lately. I'm starting to remember why I try to avoid major sporting events featuring Australian teams.

The arrogance is absolutely astounding. They seem to forget what happened in England recently too. I hope England flog them in the 5th, just to bring them back to Earth.

Australian sports fans have got to be the most arrogant on the planet. It's ****ing pathetic.

i think because cricket is an individual sport within a team structure. The arrogance and the swagger seem to take a higher significance. Point in case Jonathan Trott. If you watched him bat you'd assume he was absolutely unfazed by anything, the truth was in fact the opposite. The arrogance and the swagger are a facade , the problem with this is that it filters down to the fans.

Where's the arrogance? Everytime they are asked about the accomplishment etc. Clarke etc. responds "we are still ranked 5th internationally so there's a lot of work to do"

I really don't understand your comment

Pretty much every country is arrogant in terms of their national teams in sports they're very good at, and Australia is definitely nowhere near countries like the Netherlands, England or France. Also hate the USA's form of calling their club competition winners "World champions", but they are generally not too bad when it comes to national teams...

Seriously, you haven't seen arrogance until you hear the Dutch talk about their national teams in soccer, hockey, or their individual stars in cycling, swimming and speed ice-skating.

I deadset reckon our players have fed off the arrogance of the media this summer. You have to be arrogant to play cricket. It's a team game but very individual as well.

If you want to hear about arrogance. Whenever an English sporting team win a major event I.E Ashes, World Cup, Gold Medals etc, they get a bus ride throw the streets of London and receive Gongs at the palace and have dinner with the queen and prime minister.

I don't see celebration as arrogant. I see fan comments as arrogant.

Things like the picture getting around Facebook, 'England came to Australia 4 Nothing'. I can appreciate the comedy in that. But it's fucking ridiculous considering both teams played like fucking busted assholes, and a few months ago Australia was embarrassed over there.

That's just my rant. I find it really pathetic, and just seems that Australian fans are easy to forget. Take for example when NSW finally win something. They will forget QLDs dominance.

That's not arrogance, that's celebration and reward for winning a major comp. Done all over the world...

Arrogance is how the poms behaved before the Ashes started and got their arse handed to them!

You don't understand it, because you didn't read it correctly.

I said Australian sports fans.

My bad.

Yeah celebrating proud fans are arseholes

Yeah, because that's exactly what I meant. There is a difference between being proud, and a difference between being a complete and utter embarrassment for your country and the good fans of the game.

Not only have we won the Ashes, we're 4-0 up and the Poms are acting like little bitches - in this case the arrogance is justified.

I don't see the problem, if the equation was that we only won two and drew the others and the nature of those victories was very close and fairly flukey, I could understand but the Australians have been all over the top of this Pommy side that's been running their mouths for years.

It's like Queensland winning 8 series in a row, course you're going to celebrate that.

Yeah, no. It's not the same. I believe Australian sports fans, a lot of them, are arrogant fucking douche bags the way they chose to "celebrate".

To each his own.

Really? So all those memes about how useless and pathetic NSW are is fine, but Australian fans doing similar about cricket is not?

Gloat when the team you support is winning I say.

Any win, by any sporting side over a Pommie opponent, should be celebrated accordingly !!

Call us a bunch of convicts will ya :bootyshake:

Sort of like all those ticket tape parades through every capital city in Australia and meeting John Howard every 15 minutes.
