Who saw it?? Lockyer pulled it out of the cupboard on Sunday. The good old torp bomb was back and swirling like a mother. It was awesome to see it back. I'd love to see Locky put more of those big babies up..

Me too.

Locky is the king of those high, spiralling bombs.

I remember he did them all night against Manly in 2005, Brett Stewart had a shocker.

I've got to say I've seen Inglis put up a few bombs and they are absolutely massive, they stay in the air for ages.
I think Lockyer should go back to putting a few bombs up one or twice a game, especially with the kickers now being untouchable there isn't the risk of getting hammered.

Lockyer definitely has an awesome bomb on him...but Inglis' are out of this world. If we get him, we should definitely use them.

Inglis' more often than not shanks it... A low percentage play IMO.

Inglis' bombs might be low percentage due to the fact that a lot of his one's argent that crash hot. But bombs aren't low percentage at all.

*facepalm* That's what m1c's saying. Because Inglis doesn't nail them consistently it's a low percentage play to use HIM.

Locky is awesome with it though. I can't believe it's been so long between bombs like that.

Sorry, I thought he was saying that GI's one's are shit AND it's a low percentage play.

But yes, Lockyer should do it more often. But what I'd like to see even more in our kicking department is a kick into the in goal for repeats sets of 6. I swear we never get any of them. We're such a good attacking team, we have some very handy kickers in our team, quality wingers who read the play well - I wish we'd be more patient with it and kick it in goal a bit more for repeat sets.

^^^ This! Totally agree! None of our kicking options are particularly good at it. Locky can on his day but he's inconsistent. Ditto Wallace. Ditto McCullough.

I think too often we go for the chip/bomb on the last which rarely results in a repeat set.

Actually we're not that bad at all in that department, although the Tits excel at it...

This only indicates how warped one's impression can be. eusa_think

Nice article audragon, statistically Broncos aren't doing too bad when it comes to line drop-outs etc. And it further cements my theory that the Titans are better than what people give them credit for.

Still only 8th. Not good enough IMO.

I thought we would be a lot worse considering we were the worst in the comp at one stage for conceding points. We've done a lot to reduce that. At least we're not Dragons :P

No, it further cements that the Titans are as clinical as we all think. They have a structured game plan and they stick to it. When it works it works. When it doesn't, they have no plan B and are useless.

See both games against the Broncos for evidence of that.

In both games they built up a fair bit of pressure on the Broncos line but the defence would not let their popgun attack through. They don't have anywhere near enough creativity in attack to be a threat.

Only 4 repeat sets off the 2nd. I won't say off who we get most of these repeat sets or an admin might feel a need to plant his/her boot firmly in my sphincter...

We're also 4th in scoring off repeat sets and 5th in resisting the opposition's repeat sets!

A couple of his bombs were fantastic on Sunday. One near the Milton Road end of the ground was swirling all over the place.

Honestly Lockyer should be the one putting them up. Wallace get's too much depth on his and they just end up as a safe carry back for the opposition wingers. He should stick to field kicking. And keep it low to the ground son!

Again, on Sunday the tactic was to put the ball as high and deep as possible to give the Broncos chasers as much time as possible to get there and thus limit the damage of kick returns from Morris, Florence Nightingale and Derpderp Boyd.

anything that means wallace does less kicking is good in my books.

greg inglis' bombs are incredible too though. he may not have the constant precision that lockyer does, but boy oh boy does he get some hang time. imagine folau having that much time to get under the ball? itd give him enough time to run the obstacle course that all teams put in front of him as soon as a kick goes up and still get to the ball!

 Wallace actually has a very good short kicking game, he's just out of form at the moment.[/quote:5x7x07a3]
No he doesn't. At least not in "the world according to AP". [icon_shady
