The rise, and rise of Patty C. He's the man now - no longer caretaker captain for a game here and there. He's the main man now until almost finals.

We also need to find 2023's defense and quick. ARey didn't underpin our defence last year, he had a job to do, but it was the team that repelled set after set on our own line. We recapture that, our strike potential is more than enough to get us home when it counts.

What game did you watch bro? Riki centres, Hetho SR, Walters HB, Kotoni on a different side, Ezra out for 15. It was a clusterfuck of a game and as much as we can stand here and say defence hasn’t been good enough in the big games, which it hasn’t, but where can we have realistically have improved with the defensive set up we have got? As nice as a 3 middle bench would be it’s not plausible for us anymore, Gosiewski or Oates needs to be on the bench and considering Oates will have an extended run at wing it surely has to be Gosiewski with his ability to play SR, Middle and Centre.

We're poorly performing in defense ALL SEASON LONG.

If we're taking about contending, we need to be not conceding 45- 60m a set by the 20m mark. We need to bring back last season's line speed, we're well off that. And we're bleeding a lot of points, with and without injuries.

we've been pretty poor in defence in 4 games (which we've also gone on to lose.) ... have a guess what those 4 games had in common.

If you answered that we lost key players early then you would be correct. in 2 of those games we lost an outside back, then had to shift a backrower to defend in the centres as cover and both the Roosters and Panthers took full advantage of that fact. Backrowers may be able to do a job at centre in offence, but they rarely handle it too well in D. it is arguably the hardest position on the field to defend in

Let in 18 against potential spooners Rabbitohs.

We bled a massive amount of points against the storm both first and second half before ARey went off, even when he did - he doesn't provide a pivotal role in defence anyway.

Raiders were put down 40 nil the week after their inept attack managed to put 2 tries on us.

The Dolphins lost their strike weapons and still managed to put 3 on us - including Hammer.

It's not just the tries. We've giving away super easy meters up the guts and we crack on our line where-as last year, we held on for set after set.

We're not shocking, but we're not elite in defence. At least last year we were top 4 defensively. This year, consistently we've been winning games with strike, not defence. Good teams will put you away when that's all you bring.
 
Which ever team this year can win the most without their first string half back, wins the comp.
