$500k per year for 2 years is a bargain for the club, but a bit disrespectful to Walters considering he makes more as a SOO coach and compared to what Seibold got paid with a bonus golden shower handshake.

IF it is true, it is a joke given Seibold was on like 800k or something to destroy the club and he is being paid just over a quarter to rebuild it.

$500k is what Madge is on I believe, if Kevvie can turn this around his value with skyrocket.

Agreed, it looks terrible in comparison. That said, just because Paul White and his incompetent mates massively overpaid for the most recent turd Isaac Moses rolled in glitter it doesn't mean we should keep making the same mistakes over and over again. When Kevvie takes us to our next premiership the board can approve a handy topup as thanks.

Trying to get his last digs in before Kev is coach. Then he wont be allowed to bury the players or coach because Kev is friends with Ikin. They will just take pot shots at management instead
Kent also could have been angry that Ikin missed the CEO job because he isn't getting his very own show next year and has to play second fiddle still.

Kent has gone on another rambling whingefest in the CM.

i have to laugh at the "expert opinion" they have tagged this article with.

this one entitled: "The clown prince and the Broncos' self entitled posse"

bit hard to follow, but talks about Walters and the board and the playing group ... i'm surprised he hasn't yet accused the Broncos of orchestrating the disappearance of Harold Holt ... maybe that will be tomorrows piece

No way Kevvie gets paid $500k for the Qld gig

I am worried that Kev will recruit someone like Ash Taylor. Possibly Corey Norman. Potentially Ben Hunt. Maybe Moses Mbye.

If we swap Bird for Hunt I'd be okay with that.
I'm not convinced he would go down that path unless the deal was substantially in our favor, he would have been keeping a well placed eye on the past two seasons and seeing the issues the present spine possesses. The last thing I think kevie or any coach of any substance would want to do is replace underperformers like Croft or overpriced ones like Milford with hot and cold players, that doesn't solve the issue at hand.

I get pur need for experienced assistants with Walters as head coach, but not sure how Griffin will go with 2 very, very experienced coaches around? A few losses and things could get very prickly/tense
I wouldn't call Gentle a very, very experienced coach though.....

as a head coach, you're right

but as a coach in general, he is ... he has been coaching since 1997

It makes you wonder if he pulled Seibold aside at some point and said, look mate you aren't getting through to them, try the basics for a while.

Typical conversation.

Gentle: "Hey Seiboldy I think we need to try something new because the 110% game speed isn't working and we are picking up more injuries at training than in games".

Seibold: "What?"

Gentle: "I think we need to try something new because the 110% game speed isn't working and we are picking up more injuries at training than in games".

Seibold: "Huh?"

Gentle: "We need to, FFS Anthony can we turn off the fucking stereo I can't hear myself think".

*Turns of Justin Beiber*

Gentle: "That's better, what I was saying is I think we need to try something new because the 110% game speed isn't working and we are picking up more injuries at training than in games".

Seibold: "Good point Gently, let's crank it up to 120%".

Just confirmed by the QRL that Karl Morris has agreed for Kevvie to "have input" into the Maroons team up to the end of October only. He will apparently be involved with the team while they are based in Qld before going across to Adelaide.

QRL Chair Bruce Hatcher said the extent of Kev's involvement would be "fair to him and fair to us", but realises he has all the Broncos player rosters, culture and other issues to deal with.
