The QLD Autopsy...

Do you guys who are saying you hope Slater doesn't play realize how good he was on Wednesday night? You saw what happened when one of a legendary spine went down what happened. If Slater goes down too, be careful in assuming Inglis will automatically be better.

If he's fit, definitely play him. But can he play just as well on the wing if Inglis goes to fullback?
And would the selectors be complacent if they play him at all in a do or die game if he's not completely fit?

And someone, anyone, needs to be tasked with marking Hayne from the get go.
It was ridiculous how much he was allowed to move

Yep agreed and for me, Guerra added a bit of starch to the left side when he came on which was where Hayne raided at JT all night. McQueen didn't protect JT at all and needs to be replaced by Guerra in the starting side. Plus Guerra runs great lines and him running left and Thaiday running right will cause havoc all night.

Was I the only one that thought NSW halves were ordinary...? Their kicking was crappy. They didnt even kick long when they were pinned inside their 30. Hayne had to do all that. They didnt set any tries up that was all Hayne again. Hodkinson even missed simple kicks at goal.

We shut down Hayne in that game and NSW dont even score.

IMO i hope they stick with Reynolds and Hodkinson. Far less dangerous then Pearce and Maloney.

You are absolutely right if he is not fully fit though, he really shouldn't be played then but if he is fit, I want to see him and Inglis interchanging randomly through the night. I dot understand why we haven't done that the last two to three years.

I agree completely. Besides pretty decent defence, I have no clue why nsw are raving about their performance. They took advantage of qld playing poorly, cronk getting injured and relying on hayne to not be targeted. But hey, if they classify that as one of their greatest games ever, bring on Sydney

I am saying i hope he doesnt play because i dont believe he will be 100%. We cant afford to have him play if hes not fit

Question is, will meninga agree?

Is anyone really surprised that Reynolds got off? I had no doubt he'd get off scott free - he's the half in the nsw team that just beat the almighty QLD team. He was never going to be suspended lol.

Why are people wanting Hannant in the team? We don't need another slow plodding one out runner. We need faster props with mobility and an offload and some aggression - none of which Hannant has.

1. Inglis
2. Boyd
3. Chambers
4. Hodges
5. Tate
6. Thurston
7. Hunt
8. Scott
9. Smith
10. Myles
11. Guerra
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Teo
15. Taylor
16. McGuire
17. Milford

I'm not expecting Slater to play. He won't play unless he's fit. He did the right thing by ruling himself out last year, and I have no doubt he'll do it again if he's not up to it.

I'd like to have Vidot instead of Boyd, but a do or die game in Sydney probably isn't the time to replace a guy who above all knows how to do his job in Origin.

DCE shouldn't have been picked for Game 1, and I don't think he should be picked for Game 2 with his injury. Hunt has been killing it with his running game and short kicking game, and would give us that extra spark in creativity that we lacked.

I don't think Thaiday deserves to be there, but he usually does step his game up in origin when he's given less minutes, and we need some faster forwards and he fits the bill there. Needs to keep his butter fingers away though.

Taylor deserves another shot. Final shot ever. Plain and simple tell him that if he doesn't come out and rip into them, he's never being picked again.

McGuires aggression and tireless work ethic is much needed. Won't take a backwards step, has an offload, and tackles all night long. Would need to keep the stupid penalties out of his game though.

Milford is a no brainer. We need his speed, with everyone else being 30+ and getting weary in the legs, and he has been in scintillating form. Bring him on with 10-15 left in each half and watch NSW scramble to try and contain him.

I like this team too lol. I just wish they'd made these changes before we got beat, than having to scramble. Blind fred could see how dangerous it was going into game 1 with no big guys

And along with bringing Milford on, since NSW will be so scared of what he can do, it will free up Thurston and Inglis a bit more in my opinion.

Yeah I'd love to see Milford on the bench. He could be another Bowen who pulls something out of the bag at the last minute

I reckon Smith and DCE will be fine, but let's just say that Myles, Slater and Cronk are out, this is the side that I'd like to see: 1. GI, 2. Boyd, 3. Tate, 4. Hodges, 5. Copley/ some other winger, 6. Thurston, 7. DCE, 8. Scott, 9. Smith, 10. McQuire/ Taylor (playing on Tate's edge with Thaiday playing a bit more up the middle in our own half), 11. Guerra, 12. Thaiday, 13. Parker, 14. Milford, 15. Teo, 16. Gillet, 17. McQuire/ Taylor. McQueen was hopeless, and left Thurston on his lonesome too often. I really want Papalli to get some form back quickly, and would easily have him on the bench for McQuire or Taylor if he gets some back before the next game, but he is struggling at the moment.

I'd even be tempted to play Boyd at the back to keep GI marked up against whatever centre NSW pick to replace jmoz. He could wreak havoc on that edge, and give a new winger a bit of an easier transition into origin. Despite what a lot of people say about Boyd, he's won a CC medal at the back, and is obviously half assing it at the Knights. He played fantastic in our loss on Wed.

EDIT: You could bring Milford on to replace GI or Boyd at the back in the last period of each half and move them back that edge, which has been our most potent over the years. Tate could go back to the other wing, with Vidot or Copley or whoever playing in the back row.

I'd put Taylor on the bench with McGuire starting. Too risky starting Taylor given that he's stumbled before at origin level. I would still be worried about keeping gillet, surely there's someone who could match his defence but remove his game changing stuff ups to replace him

I still reckon Myles will play, even with a broken hand, so he will start and Taylor will go to the bench; McQuire to miss out, unless he has freakish club form over the next two weeks.

Is there anyone who could replace Hodges and do a better job? I know there's no chance they'll cut him but just curious

From what I understand, legs that are tipped beyond the hips is a dangerous throw. I want to see the actual definition of a fair judicial panel because a former nsw Origin player, a Sydney born and bred former player and a Kiwi who plays and lives in Sydney sure ain't one.
