The QLD Autopsy...

Seriously, that was a serious incident that was seriously dangerous and could have had a life-changingly serious consequence. I am seriously ticked off how unseriously NSW and the refs have taken this. To seriously challenge for a downgrade, you can't be serious!

Qld have had a wonderful golden run with injuries. it was bound to catch up wih is at some point, however if Slater misses Game 2 it might be a blessing in disguise with Inglis to the back (and getting more ball) and Chambers to left centre.

Surely you can see the downgrade happening though? He'll argue it was Scott who put him in a dangerous position (who has already pleaded guilty to 1 week) and they'll agree with him and he'll get only 1 week.

I don't think people would be as angry about that tackle if it wasn't for the nrl making a huge fake stink about cracking down on lifting tackles. If they don't care about these dangerous throws unless someone becomes paralysed, why put on such an act about how against it they are?? (ie instant on report if a player is lifted beyond the horizontal) Of course he'll get downgraded, unfortunately.

If the tackle on McKinnon was worth 3 weeks (and the injury the further 5 or 6 or whatever it was) this is definitely worth 3 wks +

Tate was flipped 270-odd degrees. It was one of the worst tackles I've ever seen. I'm cranky he only got hit with a grade 2! Bird's tackle a few weeks back was nearly the same and he was hit with a grade 3 (which should have stuck, IMO)

If the NRL is serious about cracking down on it - fucking DO IT! Ask poor McKinnon what the Tate tackle was worth for Reynolds, NRL...I dare you.

Fully expecting a downgrade so the Blues won't have to go back to Pearce and Maloney. Weak as piss.

Absolutely agree. And even if it is fairly charged, it'll just show how inconsistent the judiciary is, that they're just as bad as refs! Lose lose situation

Slater was the best for QLD by a country mile. Love how he just keeps proving the doubters wrong. Inglis certainly didn't show why he should be the fullback. He looked slow, lazy, and completely uninterested in being there. One of the worst matches I've ever seen him play.

Myles was tremendous too. That second half of his was just awesome to watch, going in to smash the ball carrier with every tackle. Pulled off a few bell ringers and just kept going all night.

Guerra was fantastic, will be in the team for a while if he keeps that up.

Te'o was very good, made some good runs and was hitting hard in defense.

Everyone else was either average or below. Our lack of props really killed us, as many expected. We just made no ground all game. Thurston was terrible, making some huge blunders, and DCE clearly shouldn't have been picked because of his injury. Carrying an injured player into a State of Origin, especially the opener, is just ridiculous.

I wasn't expecting us to win with the team we chose. Gillett shouldn't have been there after his previous origin showings, and his tendency to drop the ball cold at least once a match, and I hope to god he's dropped for game 2. McQueen can't even make the starting team for souths this year, and while he was very good in Origin last year, his form this year doesn't even remotely warrant selection. Scott has been killing it the last few weeks, so was very surprised by his lackluster showing. He didn't have much help though. Boyd moved up closer to being the all time leading Origin tryscorer while doing not much. I think that first try of his was the most contact that he's ever had to contend with while scoring. He's been pathetic all year, didn't deserve to be there. I'd have given Vidot a go.

I thought last year was the end of the dynasty, was glad to be wrong, but I can't see us winning this especially after losing Cronk and potentially Slater for game 2.

Just finished watching the replay.

Slater and Inglis have lost a fair bit of speed. A couple of years ago, if they got on those breaks they would have been under the posts.

That is crap. Of course we would still be angry. That particular tackle has always been very illegal. Not just recently.

The doubters were only pointing out that his form, apart from the last 1 or 2 games before Origin, his form was horrible. And that is because he was playing horribly. As has Chambers for whomever said he would take the centre spot if Inglis moves to fullback.

Josh Reynolds charge has been downgraded. He will play the next origin game....

I'm fucking done.

Reynolds downgraded to Grade 1, will miss one game and be back for Origin 2.

Stitch up of the decade.

I can't believe how sick the nrl can be to decide the severity of a charge based on the extent of the receiving injury. Disgusting.
Someone will pay the price one day

The piece of shit won't miss a game at all now. What a farce

Why put him out for one game at all, bulldogs have a bye this week... If fairness is out the window why charge him at all?!!!!

Who the **** decides this shit? There is absolutely no way McLean gets 7 weeks and that gets 1. No way. This has me fuming.

It's just downright sick. McLean gets 8 times as long because of the outcome, has f*** all to do with the dangerous throw.
