If we just want a reliable fullback, then why the **** are we getting rid of Hoffman, who is 100 times more reliable than Boyd at half the price.

That's simply not true and Hoffman can't pass the fucking ball

If your case against Boyd is so strong you shouldn't have to make shit up

FTR, i dont want Hoffman to be our fullback, i want Milford to be fullback.

But since that is clearly not happening, Barba would be my next choice. Yes Barba has been poor this year (for a number of reasons), but so was Boyd. However, IMO, Barbas best is much better than Boyds best.

I wouldn't even be as strongly against signing Boyd as i am, if i thought Bennett could be objective about him. I.e. if Boyd at fullback wasn't working, then shift him to the wing and giving Barba or Nikorima or whoever a chance at the back. Sadly. I dont think Bennett can be objective about Boyd.

Based on what exactly?

Boyd was awesome at the Dragons at fullback, during his down seasons at the Knights they had very few other options at fullback to replace him.. Kurt Gidley?.. Jake Mamo (Played quite poorly in first grade this season, certainly wasn't kicking the door down)

I'm honestly not sure what you expected Wayne to do with Darius this year except for persist with him.

If Barba is playing phenomenally off the bench this year and Boyd isn't finding any form, I think he'll certainly at least entertain the idea of bringing Barba in to the starting line-up and shifting Darius to the wing or centres.

The club is dead to me. It was a mistake to get Wayne back. This is not the great club it used to be. They are so desperate they had to bring back a past it coach. They've just dug a bigger hole for themselves.

So whats the next Gold Coast team in the list to enter the competition? I imagine the list of names is running thin.

I really couldn't give a **** about Boyd v Barba. Its Taylor and Jayden I care about, and I don't like the signs there. I also don't give a **** if people think they are untried.

On WB himself, there are some things I really like and some I don't. I like that he's getting guys like Alfie and Kevvie back involved with the club and trying to restore the culture. I also don't mind the fact he's clearing out players like Hannant and Hoffman. On the flipside though, I'm horrified by his soon to be signing of Boyd. What I really want is the WB who had the balls to debut Hunt at fullback as a 17 year old.

Personally I'm tired from it on both sides, it's dragged on and on for far too long surely its gotten to the stage where both sides need to tone it down from getting so personal, I think both sides bring up reasonable points in their arguments but too quickly it degrades into a shit fight, I'm no saint in that regard either, I was probably too skeptical about Bennett bringing Boyd back, fine hand up.

I rate Bennett but I certainly don't think the sun shines out of his ass (for all the good things his done over the years his got his share of flaws as well) as some make out just because I think his the right man for the job and his got one hell of a job turning this club around, I understand that people are skeptical about his capacity to given his recent times at the Knights, by far the worst period of his coaching career at the NRL level and probably the most interesting aspect of that is will he learn from his mistakes in such an environment different to say the Broncos and Dragons provided? There's no certainty in all of this, at the end of this we may be where we need to be, or we may be where we are or worse, that is all what we face with another coach as well, in the situation I am, I prefer to get this club back on it's feet and where it belongs I prefer to go with the likes of Bennett in the short term while we look for the real long term answer. His got a job to do, but before we start making predictions perhaps we need to step back and see at least how it pans out over the off season, a lot more interesting developments to come IMO

Would be hilarious if Boyd ends up in the centres and Barba at fullback.

Let's pretend we are in 2016 and Hodges decided to retire, by your plan we could be running

1. Barba
2. Vidot
3. Boyd
4. Copely
5. Kahu/Maranta
6. Milf
7. Hunt

That's not all bad

Somewhat of an overreaction IMO but hey if you really feel that way I'm sure there are 15 other clubs who would welcome a new fan

I haven't changed my mind about Boyd as most haven't. Just because a poster reconsidered their view, a mature action in any person Ap uses it as some sort of triumphal claim. AP claims Boyd is going to be paid OVER 750 k, something he cannot possibly know as he has no clue as to how much he is on now and Boyd has not publicly accepted anything from the Broncos.

He is talking through his arse which oddly enough is better than his brain. We need a good reliable fullback and Boyd is such. Fullback was a weak point all year, this is something undeniable no matter APs ridiculous statements. We finished up with a turnstile at the rear. WB , a far better credentialed judge than AP inherited Milford who he sees as a 5/8. His form at picking 5/8s is spectacular ,Walters over Lewis and Lockyer from fullback to 5/8. Both moves heavily criticised by AP types, both moves spectacular successes.

I can see Hunt, Barba, Milford and Boyd combining beautifully with Barba taking Maccas job but even without doing so, still finding a use for him. There is not point talking about Hoffman who's best suited to wing and most certainly was not superior to Boyd. Hoffman wanted to dictate where he played and there can only be one boss so I'm glad he has left. WB is not to blame. I will be surprised if Boyd signs and will be very surprised if he is the best paid member of the Broncos in the future.

Time to change your view AP, you may even gain some respect.
Mate you've got no idea lol.

You'll be surprised if Boyd signs? He just got released, and the Broncos announce a big surprise at their Jersey unveiling on Wednesday.....lol.

I'm not changing my view as that would mean changing it from the logical one to the illogical one.

Bennetts form at picking 5/8ths is spectactular? Ikin? Carroll? Stagg? I didn't criticize moving Lockyer to 5/8th as it was always going to happen, since Lockyer played like our five eighth in attack since the moment he was a first grade regular.

Barba won't take McCulloughs job either. Bennett just signed 2 backup hookers lol.

Nah I won't be supporting any other NRL clubs.

I wrote that before the news was broken but that means nothing I suppose. Ikin was a good 5/8 and there were not that many around at the time to choose from. Carroll and Stagg were never chosen as first choice 5/8s, they were simply given a job through necessity. I gave you two examples but you seem to have missed that. Without doubt you are the most selective of posters and always omit points that show you for what you are. I will also exercise my right to use the ignore button.

One example was lockyer, even though lockyer moving there was a formality and a necessity at the same time. He had been our five eighth in attack for 5+ years already.

Only 4 more months of it.

Will you make it?
