Yeah, but he had an amazing team for 20 odd years. That's not a coincidence, he's surely got to get some credit for the team.

Pick the year where he didn't have one of, if not the best, player in the entire competition in his team who was just a natural talent. Most coaches would kill to have one future immortal for one year, Bennett had at least 3, with at least 1 at any given time, from day 1 until the day he left.

Its not a coincidence, its luck and good scouting by someone else.

Bellamy started at the Storm in 2003 as did Smith and Slater with Cronk in 2004 and had Inglis for a few years too, just sayin :D

Bellamy has had 3 of those for his entire coaching career, oh 4 actually when they were still rorting the cap for 5 years... Every coach has a scout. Do you think Bellamy picked those 3 players years before he even became coach?

I don't even know what the argument is anymore. Bennett won a premiership outside of Brisbane, he proved himself with that victory.

He's also proving right now that he's no longer the best coach and there are thousands of Knights fans who can attest to that.

i wouldnt put it past melbourne to put in a stinker ala 2011 finals series and the knights win it. theyll probably win the bloody premiership just to piss me off about this season even more.

Bulldogs being shit aside, I thought the Knights were very good. I wouldn't put it past them to beat Melbourne next week.

I really believe any of the 6 remaining teams are a genuine chance at winning the title.

WB has taken a squad of misfits and has-beens to the preliminary final, defeating the reigning premiers in the process.

Quite an achievement for a bloke who was past it back in the mid-2000s!

Newcastle probably won't win, or even make the grand final, but I'm pretty sure they've great exceeded everyone's expectations, due in part to some utterly fantastic coaching and leadership from the great man WB.

He is the greatest coach of all time and he held that title long before tonight. And to think he used to coach a side which now lays claim to having the worst coach of all time. Amazing how an organisation can turn to complete shit after 5 short years without the great man.
