Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

1. Boyd
2. James McManus
3. Beau Scott
4. Justin Hodges
5. Jack Reed
6. David Stagg
7. Ben Hunt

14. Milford

I would love McManus in the side.

It's been a while since we have had a specialist winger that's a quality finisher.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

1000 monkeys on 1000 typewriters....

So many variables between now and 1 March 2015... Bennett might even get a sniff of the Brisbane media in pre-season, get jack of that and walk off into the sunset leaving us all high and dry.

Getting more and more concerned about 2015.

It was the best of times, it was the BLURST OF TIMES?

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

If milford plays anywhere but fullback its a massive waste. Anyone that has watched him play since he came into first grade can blatantly see its his best position, especially after watching him play 6 in the U20's origin.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

What is the go with the Hoffman love from local media. They were suggesting in the paper today that Milford and Barba will battle for the 6 and Hoffman will be fullback. Completely laughable IMO. Milford to fullback and Barba to the 6 is the obvious move if Barba continues to develop in the 6 role. He has handles the defensive side better than I thought he would so now he just needs to improve the rest of his game.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

1. Milford
2. Vidot
3. Copley
4. Hodges
5. Hoffman/Maranta
6. Barba
7. Hunt

Those are the guarantees, at this point. The entire forward contingent are up in the air.

I really like the look of the team but I don't know if that is the look of a Wayne Bennet backline. I know Milf was bought as a 5/8 but we might be able to use Barba there. That said I think that position is a 50/50 for you. Vidot I agree with and cant believe he is not there at the moment. Copley/hodges is our new direction and I seriously hope Jack Reed has been moved on and possibly can be re-developed into another spot. I would love to see Hoffman move to wing as I agree we need a specialist finisher and as much as he hates it he was a great finisher. Overall there some really talented young guys there, speed to burn which we have lacked and also size coming off the first ruck or two with vidot and Hoffman as the first kick return. Great line up. On a side note I think the chances of signing Boyd are good whether we like it or not. I hope he signs with Titans so he can still see Wayne and it does not mess with this line up.

In his last full season of playing fullback Hoffman registered three tries, ONE try assist, five linebreaks and ONE linebreak assist.

He's basically our version of Sam Perrett at fullback, the ultimate plodder of an attacking fullback.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

God Barba's 2012 stats are jizz worthy, where are you Ben... =[

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

We know he is shitty in attack but defence he has been a shining light making some vital tackles.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

Barba saved many tries at fullback but let a few in because his work under the high ball was deplorable.

And now that we've switched positions with him the reverse has happened.

Looked better in attack playing in the 6.....but didn't the storm score 4 times down his side last week.

I seriously think 2012 was a fluke....an anomaly. Don't think we'll ever see that Ben Barba again.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

Barba was definitely not the cause of any of those tries.

He did very well to control all the traffic the Storm threw at him, and still be by far our best player in attack with Copley.

Then he "fluked" it 2 years in a row, as he has similar stats (was also top try scorer) in 2011

It wasn't exactly a fluke, just a combination of his best form and the team's attack being built almost completely around him.

Bulldogs had no halves, Hasler made the best out of the situation having his forwards string passes and find Barba in space as much as possible. It's never going to happen again though.
