Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

1. Milford
2. Vidot
3. Copley
4. Hodges
5. Hoffman
6. Boyd
7. Hunt

Will be our backline in 2015, according to Paul Kent, he thinks Barba is gone and Reed is in trouble.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

Not a popular opinion on here I know but I would absolutely love Darius Boyd back in the team. Very experienced and has a proven record unlike a couple of guys on our books just coasting by with sub-par performances because of "potential."

Still undecided on Barba at 5/8. 2 weeks is nowhere near enough time to make a decision on how well he'd do there long-term. It's not like he had a tough act to follow.

Kent doesn't really know shit, but I do find it optimisitc that even the media are thinking of Milford as a fullback with us.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

We all know if Hoffman is on the wing he will have a sook and walk. And Bennett will say don't let the door hit your ass on the way out...

1. Paul Kent is a moron

2. If Bennett signs Boyd to be 5/8 ... he is also a moron. Boyd, like Hoffman, Hasn't got much of a play making game. they tried it at Newcastle, but moved him back to fullback quick smart.

3. Barba has come out recently saying he is committed to seeing out his Broncos contract and wants to make a good go of 5/8.

for what its worth I believe bennett is making moves for barba to be shelved to titans to replace albert kelly who looks like he might have to retire...he will bring boyd with him and keep hoffman at fullback...I think he will also move reed on..lineup will probably look like 1. hoffman 2. vidot 3 copley 4 hodges 5 Boyd 6 milford 7 hunt...still a pretty awesome looking back line....

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

I read somewhere recently - forget were, that Barba said publicly he wants to see out his 2 years and stay hopefully longer.

I hope he does. I hope he shines at 5/8 which I think should have been, and should be, his position here. Like he said, he got a lot more ball at the Dogs, and he thinks that's exactly what he'll get at 5/8.

I so hope he comes good and as I always hoped, Milford will be at FB - his best position, and Barba 5/8.

As for Boyd, talented he may be, but I don't see any need for him at the Broncos.

It was in The Australian, today

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

I hope I'm wrong, but I think that a lot of the WB enthusiasts may be in for a bit of a shocker next season...

However, I still hope that the Bennett we get, is still the master coach with all the smarts and ability to use the best players we have at their best.

There is no way in the history of... ever, that Boyd should get a spot in our 17, unless Hoffman throws another tantrum when he's put where he belongs ---> Wing.

If our backline is not something very close to the following, I will throw B4L off Suncorp's tier 5 stand. :thefinger:

1. Milford
2. Hoffman / Kahu
3. Copley
4. Hodges
5. Vidot
6. Barba
7. Hunt

If Hoffman is our fullback next season I'm literally killing myself.

According to the Courier Mail, we will most probably keep McGuire and Hannant and loose Kennedy.

It wasn't worded exactly like that. More so, the Broncos were willing to give a McGuire a 2-year, $1M extension, leaving both Kennedy and Hannant to fight it out for the other starting spot. However, Bennett (allegedly) likes Hannant as a player more than Kennedy, with the possibility of subsidising a deal for him elsewhere. This all comes from Badel, so y'know, take it with a grain of salt.
I think the club gave up on Kennedy too early, though. I think he has more potential. And he is certainly a better player to have come off the bench than Lowrie or Stagg. Having both him and Garbagebutt off the bench would make for a good duo.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

The only problem with Kennedy is that he's on way too much money. I'd be fine with him if he was on Reed's cash or something instead, but he's apparently one of our highest paid players. It's just going to get all the other (better) forwards to demand more.

He just isn't and has never been that good. Just started off with promise, got injured, and never lived up to it afterwards. He can't be one of your two main props.
