Tonight was a real low point for Kent when he was trying to explain that. I’m probably one of the few fans of Paul Kent and usually agree with most of what he says but his explanation was way off and quite frankly bizarre. It seemed like he had decided he was just going to take the alternative viewpoint to be an asshole.

It’s like the producers said someone needs to be the Max Kellerman and he drew the short straw. He was very unconvincing in his conviction.

The NRL's handling of this feels like they robbed the fans all over again. They have no respect for the fans, as long as Gamblor gets enough gambling ads out to enough people he doesn't care.

RLeague guys, remember when the site was sold under the cover of darkness to a gambling company and they ripped it down and just expected us all to carry on as if nothing happened (and keep using the site)? This is what I'm feeling is happening right now to the NRL. They can't fathom that it's the fans who keep it alive and will not understand when everyone leaves to go elsewhere.

now he's basically saying as long as there is a stoppage, a captain can challenge anything in the entire play from the play the ball,
Except for the broncos... I specifically recall Reynolds asking to challenge a repeat set on a kick and the ref saying you can't challenge that, because I've moved on from that point, even though it was all in the same play.

I think Analsley came out on Monday and confirmed the ref was correct and you can only challenge the specific action that he stopped the game for.... and yet the bunker always goes back and reviews the entire play on a challenge... so who the **** knows why we were treated differently.

I believe they also came out and said something similar when players were giving away professional fouls in order to challenge something.

From memory, they backed the referee on the Warriors/Broncos game but then when the Titans used the same exploit the next week and were able to lodge the challenge they walked it back.

You can't blame them for missing it, considering Flegler had his arm across Tupouniua's chest and he had to headbutt it to draw high contact.
What compounded that issue was that the roosters player dropped the ball when attempting to play the ball in the next play. They should not have been able to look back at the previous play as it has ended when the tackle was completed.

I think if a ref's decision brings an end to the play (i.e knock on), the players should only be able to challenge that decision, citing what the decision they believe should have been (i.e the ball being raked etc.) and not the play leading up to that decision.

vs. Warriors Round 23 2021

The decision gave Reece Walsh an opportunity to send the game into golden point but he missed the conversion and a late penalty goal.

This was a week after the Roosters were allowed to challenge the Flegler decision despite head high tackles being out of the parameters of a challenge. The bunker initially missed the head high contact as well until the referee reminded the official to check for it.
And who was the referee in that broncos game I wonder 🤔🤔🤔

I thought the actual rule for escorting was "you can't change your angle to block a runner"

In this instance the tigers player's initial movement is sideways, then he changes to go to the ball... At the point of contact both players are going towards the ball, therefore play on.

Escorts are typically blown when a player is moving towards the ball, but then changes their line specifically to block the opposition player's path

Havent watched a replay but I saw it live and thought it was a farce. If he only had eyes for the ball then I say play on.

Henry was still there and decided to dud us twice.... **** that guy
If you really want fuel for your fire, go back and watch the first half of the 2016 Warriors game in NZ. Not only gave the Warriors a mountain of possession early but dudded the Broncos twice on two tries right before half-time. Keep in mind, this was a Broncos team backing up from Origin as the NRL gifted the Warriors their 2 points against the Broncos...
